FINALLY! It's all quilted, bound and labeled. Whew, didn't think I'd ever finish. I'm very happy with it. The colors are glorious. This turned out to be a nice, comfy and cheerful quilt...I think I'll keep it!!!

Over the Hada Mountains above Mecca and on the eastern slopes of the Al-Sarawat mountains, lies The City of Taif, the cool and green Summer Capital located in the western part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. People come here for the weather (much cooler than Jeddah in the summer months), beautiful scenery and the town’s relaxed atmosp...here.
Driving along the winding roads to escape the steamy heat of Jeddah or entering from the east away from the dry desert clime of the Najd, visitors to Taif are greeted by a fresh, cool breeze as they ascend to the city. Set in a hollow between granite hills rising from the eastern slope of the Hejaz in the southwest region of the Kingdom, this city is a magnet that draws visitors from across Saudi Arabia.
The name Taif means “encompassing” in Arabic, and for centuries visitors to this mountain city 5,600 feet above sea level have enjoyed the captivating views from wind-sculpted rocks, a pleasant climate and the verdant setting of its surroundings, as well as the abundance of fruits which grow in its fertile valley. Fragrant roses, lush parks, sunny skies and exotic birds and wildlife have for generations drawn families to this resort town each summer. Not only is Taif popular among vacationers, but it has become the official summer seat of the Saudi government.
Throughout the year, the city is one of the most popular holiday resorts. Taif is a contrast of the old and new. There are ultra modern government offices of marble and glass besides the old mud structures with wooden louver windows and carved wooden doors. The plantings of oleander and palms enhance the old and new building. It is noted for its pink palaces and for the astounding modern corniche road that winds down the sheer cliffs of the Taif escarpment to the hot coastal plain.

Having sat at Dollands Moor since Saturday 23 May Euro Cargo Rail locomotive numbers 66202 (GB 92 70 0 066202-7), 66249 (GB 92 70 0 066249-8) and 66233 (GB 92 70 0 066233-2) continue on their way to Toton dit behind 66069, one possibly requiring the repair services of Crewe IEMD. The convoy were also photographed later on route by Bill Bass at Oakleigh Park, by Tom Merrill at Egmanton and by class_70_jamie at Huntingdon .
DB Schenker Rail (UK) Ltd's class 66 (JT42CWR) number 66069 in English, Welsh and Scottish Railway maroon livery with zigzag gold band, large number and EWS logo is photographed working 6E26 from Dollands Moor sidings to Scunthorpe Redbourne sidings on 25 May 2015. This service returns empty FIA 'Multifret' twin intermodal flat wagons used to transport steel for export in billet form from Tata Steels Scunthorpe complex on South Humberside in Lincolnshire (see Andy Pictons photo) to a freight yard at Ebange in Eastern France via Dollands Moor and Calais Fréthun through the Channel Tunnel (click here for the route). Laurent Knop photographed Euro Cargo Rail's loco number E 186-317 at Valenciennes (Nord - department 59) hauling loaded wagons working from Calais Fréthun to Ebange on 2 April 2014. Nicolas Tomaszewski also videoed a loaded train passing Beuvrages hauled by Euro Cargo Rail's E186 162-4. Once in Ebange the steel is used at Tata's Hayange rail mill to produce rail for SNCF's LGV Est européenne construction programme to extend the French high-speed rail network.
66069 (works number 968702-069) was built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division, London, Ontario, Canada in 1998 and unloaded from the Heavy Lift Ship MV "Fairlift" at Newport Docks on 5 February 1999.
