The blanket was made using a Q hook and two strands of Caron soft yarn held together. The pattern is a variation on a ripple stitch, with "hills" and "valleys" used to form a zig-zag pattern. Photo taken by Kate Tsui, uploaded with permission.
The original entrance is now on level five. As the house grew, to accommodate the collections, they continued building down the hill.

Quilting was supposed to be 'wavy lines' like the simply squares quilt-along quilt at Fat Quarterly and some of Lee of Freshly Pieced's work, but for whatever reason my 'wavy' no matter how I messed with the machine settings would just come out zig-zaggy. Oh well....it works fairly well with the ric-rac and it's a lot better than any of the other 'free motion' techniques I've tried. {grin}

What was once the vintage flying geese quilt has become the vintage zig-zag. I finished piecing the top this evening and I love it! Now I have to decide on backing.
It's exactly 40" square, which is nice because it isn't too big. I am thinking about doing simple patchwork square for the backing. I want to use up some more of my vintage fabric stash!

I like the way the zig zag quilting looks on the back.

Check it out on Google Maps and you'll see the building looks like a wave! It must be really cool to be an architect and design a building like this :-)

This chainmaille bracelet was made using a variation of the Japanese 12 in 2 weave. The rings have been joined so as to form a zig zag pattern.
The pattern of the bracelet sees sterling silver rings creating a zig zag pattern around a central core of 14k gold fill rings.
The bracelet is completed with a sterling silver toggle clasp.
This is a lovely bracelet with both the zig zag pattern and the mixed metals creating something special.
Length: 7 3/4 in (19 1/2 cm) - This can be reduced if required.
My neighbor has this truck cab sitting in his yard. I never paid much attention to the design before!
