Some days, you end up shooting the Easter Bunny in the middle of the gauge, white trash senior portrait style.
BS obligatory railroader disclaimer: taken with permission, supervised by disinterested staff, there's totally PPE on under that Easter bunny outfit, I seem to recall that someone made mention of blue flag protection at some point, don't try this at home, etc etc etc. Really. I work here.
ETA, 4/2015: this image shows up in all sorts of "train+tracks+senior+portrait" searches on Flickr, and if you're a photographer trying to get some ideas for a senior portrait shoot, do yourself a favor and stay the hell off the tracks. Seriously. Even with permission (and let's be real for a second, there's no way you were planning on asking for permission before taking those pictures), railroad tracks are dirty, tough to walk on, and since you probably think that a balancing-on-the-railhead-while-barefoot shot is the highest form of art, we'll just add "extremely dangerous" to the list, because that's an excellent way to turn an ankle. So, when that inevitably happens, you'll find out that your insurance (your business is insured, right?) won't cover a claim made on private property since hey, you're there without the owner's go-ahead. Last but not least, if a train shows up in the middle of your obviously trespassing shoot, your client will likely get killed by that train, because trains are huge, fast, scary, and take up to a mile to stop, so take all that insurance stuff I just said and add to it a lawsuit over a dead teen. Oh, and since your business's only web presence is probably just a facebook page, go ahead and fix that too, while you're at it. It's tacky.
In closing, be smart and go find a weathered barn or something. It's way safer, and makes just as pretty a senior portrait.
You ought to shoot that last one down now
Pass on that one more round now
Closing in on too late 30
Better get home, gotta hit it hard early
Yup
You got a pretty girl looking at you there
Giving you that what you gonna do stare
Saying, 'nope, gonna call it a night now'
But you're all wrapped up in the right now
Yup.
Gonna buy her a drink, no time to think
Yup.
You'll try to say that you can't stay
But her smile is saying 'why can't you? '
Gonna wind up staying there, ain't you?
Yup.
There you go about to drop another 50
Another shot of that fireball whiskey
Tomorrow this night's gonna own me
No reason to go home lonely
Yup.

The sign states the obvious... Wonder why it's going via truck versus Rail- and, just where is its final destination?
I felt like a kid in a candy store when we went to the Louvre as I have wanted to visit it since I was a child.
But where does one start in a place like this!
So it was a case of eeny, meeny, miney, mo and picking a starting point.
These statues were the first things we encounted. HUGE. No idea which Ancient Civilisation they came from, but I have to say that the subject matter made me giggle.
Actually, I have no idea what the subject matter was, but to me they are being very male and checking that "it" was still there.
All I can say is that I hope the men in this particular civilisation were able to go to the loo properly!!!!

Well, Jennifer (Jen's Photography) and I took another "Road trip" and ended up at the Milwaukee Art Museum. Yup, I laid down and shot up for this shot... This building is so much fun to play around with and find a different way to "see" the art of the building.
More information can be found at the Milwaukee Art museum web site
Times Square here is pretty tiny. This is not NYC though.

Taoist temple in South Melbourne with garlands of incense smoke at the front door. Designed by Geoffrey Wharton replacing old wooden lodgings and temple in 1856. Centre for worship and community for local See Yup citizens. Two additional memorial halls were built in 1901 and 2004. The buildings hold the death and community records of 13,000 Chinese Australians dating from the 1850s. In 1978 the temple registered by the Australia Heritage Commission as a building of historical and architectural importance.
