I was reviewing my New Year's Sunrise photos. Sunrise is tricky, here, because of the deep shadows cast by the mesas as illustrated, below, in a photo from the same excursion. This is the time of day when I am usually out on my daily walk and I accept it as a challenge to capture the best images despite difficult shooting conditions.

Obviously, post processing is important in the finished product. This image started out as somewhat overexposed to preserve the details in the rocks. This area is fascinating to me because of the layers, colors, textures and forms,

Do you remember the shot I took when Souki was studying? Well, she has finished now! And she's happy to say she has passed all of her exams.~

Souki: YAYYY!! I'VE FINISHED!! I've finally finished!

Five Embarrassing Songs on my iPod:

1. Addicted by Simple Plan - This song was popular when I was like, seventeen, and it just reminds me of simpler times.

2. Rearranged by Limp Bizkit - Ok, this one = really embarrassing. I am, by no means, a Limp Bizkit fan and hesitated before admitting I have one of their songs on my iPod, but this song resonates with me.

3. Crawling by Linkin Park - Same deal, basically. I'm not a fan of the band but I like the song.

4. Stay by Lisa Loeb - Hahaha. I have no defense. This song reminds me of my 90s childhood. For quite a while, every morning when I woke up for school, this video would be playing on MTV without fail.

5. Beautiful Life & All That She Wants by Ace of Base - Same. My sister used to be obsessed with Ace of Base when she was little, and these are kind of feel-good songs. ...I probably have "I Saw The Sign" on here too. =X

I spent the last 4 days hanging out with some awesome friends wakeboarding and enjoying amazing weather and water conditions...and all you get is a lame flower photo!

Oh well I thought they were pretty ;-)

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.

I love taking pictures of robins. They bring a sense of colour to a drab winter’s day. They are friendly, curious and when I see one on my walk they brighten up my day. So with all that in mind, I make no apology for taking yet another picture of this remarkable little bird.

one of these days I'll get out for something different...I know, a sunrise ;)

Had a great walk on Sunday at Tommy Thompson Park. The light on the tower was really nice so I grabbed a shot of it.

One of the first shots of the phase 1 hertiage engine for Amtrak. This is the orgninal paint scheme Amtrak had back in the 70's (save for one E unit in black and blue)
