The Moree Xplorer moving off to Moree.

Trailing powercar of the Northern Tablelands Xplorer, this will become the trailing car of the Moree consist.

The three car Xplorer from Canberra approaches Goulburn, soon followed by the two car Xplore from Griffith. The two merge to form a five car set to Sydney.

The AK cars cross the southbound Northern Tablelands Xplorer at Uralla.

SP34, the midday Canberra to Sydney Xplorer service is seen here rejoining the mainline at Joppa Junction. CountryLink run twice daily between Canberra and Sydney, with an additional evening service being run on every second day.

Kangaroo's. Dad's nickname for them is "Boomer". We saw A LOT, as well as Emu's, Sheep, Cattle and Goats.

Photo's not as sharp as I'd like however taken from a moving train through tinted windows so can't be perfect.

Ummm .... by the time we got to Broken Hill there was quite a bit LESS as they tended to wander onto tracks at the wrong time.

The Northern Tablelands Xplorer, railmotor service, prepares to depart Sydney Terminal. It will split, at Werris Creek, into the Armidale Xplorer (front 4 cars) and the Moree Xplorer (rear 2 cars).

The Canberra Xplorer departs Sydney Terminal Platform 2, while 3642 awaits its turn to shunt and take the heritage carriages back to Thirlmere.

Comparing the real controller to my own. The Lego keys are narrower, but taller than the normal ones.

Over the weekend of 14th -15th September 2024, a two car Xplorer consisting of cars 2502/2522 was used on a number of what seems to be some particular test/trial runs, which included several runs from the Meeks Road Goods Junction to Hurstville and return.

 

Seeing an Xplorer on the Illawarra line is quite a rare sight, as seen here with the cars passing through on the Up through Carlton.

I moved the standard inside light to the bathroom door - same as kitchen

door. I then installed 3 LED downlighters in the overhead cupboard with

switches between the cupboard doors.

Rear two cars of this consist will detach and proceed to Moree, while the front four cars in this photo will proceed to Armidale.

Looks brand new, don't remember it being this nice back in October.

SP32, the up Canberra Xplorer service has been diverted via East Hills due to trackwork on it's normal route via Regents Park. Seen here crossing the viaduct into East Hills Station.
