NP43, Northern Tablelands Xplorer races through Cowan station as it heads for Armidale or Moree. The unusual thing is this service usually splits in two at Werris Creek and one half goes to Armidale, and the other half heads off to Moree. This service can not be slpit.... 29-11-13

This is the first shot that I got at Hawkesbury River on the 7th of June 2019. It was pretty cold and there were regular episodes of light drizzle. So not the best time to visit but I was very glad to actually be able to finally stop here and watch some trains going through. As you'll see, although it wasn't the sort of trains I'd really like to see (I'm thirty years late for that!), there was a good variety to see (and in just a short time too)

Both Xplorers are timetabled to arrive and depart at 11.29am, in reality they're here for about 20-30 minutes while the connection takes place.

Incoming and outgoing drivers of SP33, the Sydney-Canberra Xplorer DMU, change over at Goulburn station. SP33 "has the road" via the crossover from the up back to the down main.

The main south is double line uni-directional, but through Goulburn station it is bi-directional. Down passenger trains normally cross to the up main to use the main platform (platform 1).

As was usual over the Easter Weekend, the Moree Xplorer waits for the Armidale Xplorer to arrive so they can join up and travel through to Sydney.
