When Microsoft XP was released to the market, it was widely praised by its good-looking interface. As a result, XP-tan is portrayed as a cute and well-endowed girl.
XP was also criticized for being a resources hog, as previous OS like 98SE would run with only 24MB of RAM, while XP needed 128MB to run reasonably well. A common joke is portraying her with an empty rice bowl in her hands, always hungering for more.

This was one of the competitors in the 1950's Sports Racing Cars race at the Vintage Sports Car Club's meeting at Oulton Park in May 2005. It's Dean Butler's 1958 Bocar XP-5. The Bocar was a series of limited-production two-seaters developed by Bob Carnes in Lakewood Colorado starting with an experimental X-1 in 1958 which was followed by X-2 and X-3 examples and about five XP-4s. The first real production cars, begun in mid-1959 were the XP-5s which had a glass-reinforced polyester body surrounding a welded moly-tube space frame and a beefed-up Volkswagen rear suspension. The most common engine was a 283 cu in Corvette V8 unit. Dean Butler’s Bocar XP-5 was built by Bocar expert Doug Karon with Mustang front suspension, Jaguar rear suspension and a 383 cu in Chevrolet small block engine - but the programme of this event says the car has a 4,735cc engine, which equates to 299 cu in.
I took this of a wheat field out in somewhere out in the middle of nowhere in Idaho. It seems reminiscent of the default Windows XP background to me.

I didn't think it was possible, but somehow, after doing some updates to drivers, and probably from getting .NET 3.5 Framework loaded on, I was able to get Opensim 0.7.x versions to work on my old Gateway that runs Windows XP on a Pentium 4.

A manhã vai embora e o calor amazônico vem à tona, mas junto com ele esse gratificante céu azul incrível e essa plantação de arroz verdinha: tudo ao melhor estilo Windows XP no meio do mato.
A travel to the country of the Pará state. I went to the farm with my family. It was just morning, one terrible cold weather and me on the back of one F1000 with the camera on the neck. The morning goes and the amazonic heat show it's force, but with that it came that pleasant blue sky an that amazing green rice plantation: everything in the best style Windows XP in the country.
