When I finally managed to return to flickr I saw some wonderful images of this sim, so thank you to Annie Klavinham, Ziki Questi and others for sharing your images and the location.
I spent a long time exploring, and each step there was something new - the way the light changed, a detail, an angle - to delight the eye.
This is somewhere that will repay repeated visits.

Northern flicker (Colaptes auratus).
Colonial Park. Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
The Northern flicker (Colaptes auratus) is a medium-sized member of the woodpecker family. It is native to most of North America, parts of Central America, Cuba, the Cayman Islands, and is one of the few woodpecker species that migrate. There are over 100 common names for the Northern flicker. Among them are: yellowhammer (as it's known as the state bird of Alabama, not to be confused with the Eurasian yellowhammer), clape, gaffer woodpecker, harry-wicket, heigh-ho, wake-up, walk-up, wick-up, yarrup, and gawker bird. Many of these names are attempts at imitating some of its calls.

Another guy I know nothing about, but apparently that's par for the course with this guy. He was introduced in Rebirth's JLA - a great book I need to get back to reading - and according to ComicVine is a "confidant of the JLA". He was also holding a big bazooka-looking thing and looking mildly uncomfortable, so I tried to get some of that going here 😅
