Just as the first rays of sun burn through the humidity fog, KCS 4602 South starts pulling a feeder train out of the yard for points south on the Dubuque Sub. This #360 train was on duty at Marquette 0430 after the grain train was brought in off the Mason City Sub. during the middle of the night.
Too bad the Belle was trailing. Not a huge fan of the gray KCS scheme so I let this go for #270 and #171 that both had IC&E blue/yellow on the point.
Religious zealots will argue that this arrow is pointing in the wrong direction.

Electric line for oven.
New cabinets are going to ceiling. Guys put up 5" strip of drywall along top of wall so 'the cabinets won't fall into the wall' and said there was no need to finish the rest because it was going to be behind the cabinets and not seen anyway.
They had to weave this piece of drywall behind the wire.
Again...they must have been drinking.

Puts on a great show... audience punk-participation. (punkticipation?)
With these begins a rather large image project that looks back in time at some local history. The project is my documentation of a series of Peace Rally's and Peace Marches that took place in Portland, Oregon during the years that Baby-Bush was President.
Anyone who'd read the UN report on Iraq weapons inspection knew there were no "weapons of mass-destruction." People knew there was no connection between the events of 9/11 and Saddam Hussein. So folks were a little grumpy and took to the streets to voice and show their discontent at being lied to.
Somehow I've saved the negatives and thought it would be interesting to share the path I followed from timidity through to something a bit more engaging and mature. These early images clearly show my timidity. Living in ultra-conservative Washington County I'd heard these kinds of events could turn violent. It took time and experience to realize how wrong that was.
For this event I used a Rolleiflex 2.8 E (with Schneider Xenotar) twin lens reflex and Kodak TMax400 120 film that was souped in Kodak D76 (my favorite developer).

I'm no doubt getting the name of the taverna wrong, but on the card they gave me, their name is difficult to read, because it's not in our alphabet. But the place is in Exo Gonia, Santorini (near Pirgos), and I highly recommend it!! The food was fantastic.
After a fake fair-catch, the Vikings stopped the ball on the 1 yard line. The niners were actually lined up in their own endzone.
On our way to Epcot I found this was a funny perspective. The sign says wrong way and all the cars and buses are going through anyway. It's for the other side but it looks like it's for these cars.
