Despite the face numbing -36 below temperature, an otherwise nice day sees 142 hustling east through Long Pond, kicking up powder in their wake. CP AC44CWM 8107 is leading KCS ES44AC 4820 and CP SD70ACU 7022 with a short train, marking the first time a KCS engine has traversed the Moosehead.

This nasturtium flower seems to be growing the wrong way round, I really do need some time with the camera as there are still some flowers in the back garden, but having been on the bike this morning ( hence the reason for only now writing up ) I doubt I'll have much time again toady for the camera! Some day soon hopefully!

Taken with my D60 at Parc Des Rapides (Lasalle)..There was a happy ending after all, the tern escaped the hawk.
What would have been absolutely fantastic turned into a "well, it could be worse" situation. Dead in tow behind a pair of SD40-2's are the CSX commemorative units honoring first responders and veterans. After stopping to work Ensel Yard in Lansing, the train continues east toward Plymouth as they head through Howell, MI. under the classic bridge that protects the west end of the siding.
These people have a light-hearted take on their location. Is it the wrong end of town? If no one has bothered to pick up that Christmas tree yet and have a bit of a sweep up, it probably is, but good luck to them.
