I often wonder.......actually too often and one of the subjects on my mind is forgiveness. Why must people pay for forgiveness? Some may say that they forgive, but making the person pay by doing the same onto them......one bad cycle which makes forgiveness a cycle of debit repayment making us all broke.

An extract from Riddley Walker.

One of my favourite books and probably the book that completely changed my attitude to modern literature and tilted my impressionable, teenage head away from the Kerouac/Salinger (and even Joyce/Beckett) route of reading/writing that predominated, at the time.

If you think City of Bohane by Kevin Barry is the cutting edge of modern Irish literature, read Riddley Walker.

I suspect that Kevin Barry did.....

cans and everything you can think of. It is about 8:30 PM and we have no light, I can hardly see what I am writing, Oh this is a great place Nellie. Briggs and a fellow by the name of Miller are also writing here. I guess you would know him, he has a farm down by Pt. Weller some place. What do you think, I bought a kodak to-day, so you can expect some snaps very shortly. I wonder if I will have the good luck or bad luck if I run into Miller, but I guess if (Arthur) Gander (Nellie's future husband) and he can get along I will try hard. The only one I am going to look out for is Fred. I hope he is soon able to get out of the hospital but if he is still there I would not mind going to see him, but I would not take a chance any other way. I had to come out of the stores, and am writing on the tables outside, I guess I will have to finish in the tent, beside my lantern. Doc and I were out for a nice numnah (In North American we call a numnah a saddle pad or blanket) ride this morning and had our pictures taken a few times, Doc (Denton) was showing me some pictures today of Martendale and they looked awfully good to me. I am glad you are not going to that summer school and think you will fell much better for not going. I have no idea when they are going to let us go home, but I think we will be going in two or (end of page 2)

He mentions "Port Weller" in this letter - "Port Weller", Ontario is a community in St. Catharines, Regional Municipality of Niagara, Ontario, Canada and is part of the Golden Horseshoe region. It is located 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) north of the centre of St. Catharines at the north end of the Welland Canal at Lake Ontario, but part of that city in much the same way as Port Dalhousie.

He also mentions "Martendale" in this letter - "Martindale" is a community in the city of St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. It is located in the west end, concentrated in and around Martindale Road. The Martindale area is bounded to the south by Fourth Ave., to the east by the Twelve Mile Creek, to the West by the 406 and to the north by Main St.

Today, it did not stop raining for anything. i think i went through 3 pairs of pants, because they all were soaked from the downpour.

Professor Matthew Derrick led small group discussions in his research and writing course.

Circolo Culturale Amantes, TORINO

14Marzo2008

Matthew has never been a writing or drawing type. We've never pushed it, and suddenly he is realising he can do it and wants to do more.

He wakes most mornings around 5:40am. The rules are that he doesn't wake up Will, doesn't go downstairs and plays quietly. He's been in and out of our bedroom this week telling me he has made cards for people. Turns out he found a box of cut out Xmas cards to be used as tags, and has been writing 'Mum, Dad, Will, Matt' on them.

I have a vague sleepy memory of him talking about writing to the headteacher of his nursery (and school) the other morning, then checking his bag for nursery - found these :-D.

Here's a poem and a rough sketch of some stars.

This is my Parker pen, which I used all along university and keep using today.

It slides on paper like a dream and has a constant flow of ink. However, it doesn't like taking the plane.

Writing on the walls of Hue

Words don't come easily to me anymore, I had to force this out. I hate writing when I barely feel it.

I have a book that's for sale here.

The cow was at the end of our hike at Point Buchon, and the party page was later. My pages are often out of order.

Couldn't decide which title I liked better. This is more Pixlr Express stuff.
