Wanna be an extra? for a FEATURE FILM “KIDS” writen by Harmony Korine directed by Larry Clark. PLACE: THE TUNNEL. Looking for RAVERS AND CLUB KIDS.
Made to 1:50 scale, this was a pertinent choice for the Italian manufacturer in the 1970s. The box features artwork of an imaginary letter, writen by an Israeli tank crewman. It has individual metal link tracks and comes with a two-man mortar team. Polistil also made models of the American M60A1, Russian T62, British Mk3 Chieftain, German King Tiger and German Leopard.
SWINGING FLUXUS
It is a box containing 20 postcards representing several dance couples and a little wood box containing several domino pieces in which it is writen on both sides the names of several FLUXUS artists. They are the FLUXUS SWINGERS.
The game consists in displaying the cards on a table arranged at one's will and putting on every one of them a couple or three the domino pieces with the FLUXUS artists.
The best way is doing everything at random.
Then by seeing the images and the names one has to imagine what kind of artistic couple or trio or quartet they hace could be and thinking about the kind of works they would have create together, etc.
Inspired by the short story writen in the 1967 issue of IF: Worlds of Science Fiction.

Contrary to what's been writen here regarding information available online regarding the Alberni Valley Log Train Trail, it seems there IS information out there online. Basically the story of the trail goes like this: The trail’s history dates back to the early 1900s when it was constructed as a railway line to service the Bainbridge Mill, which operated from 1917-27. The mill included a small settlement of homes and a school. Bainbridge was internationally famous for the size and quality of lumber of its timber. Some of the timbers were close to a hundred feet long and measured over a metre square. Some of the wood shipped from Bainbridge was used to construct the canals between the Great Lakes in Ontario.
The Log Train Trail Regional Park is a Linear Park leased to the Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District by the Ministry of Transportation and Highways and is located in the Alberni Valley. The Trail stretches for 22km along the western base of the Beaufort Range. It is accessible from many points along its route. The Log Train Trail is suitable for family outings by walkers, cyclists or equestrians. The trail is designated as non- motorized.
The Bainbridge Mill was closed in 1927 and the railway was abandoned, only to be re-opened a decade later. The railbed today extends 22km westward to its Woolsey Road trailhead. Port Alberni Equine Society is credited with having the foresight and initiative to recognize the old railline's potential as a recreational gem and hence its usefulness today to outdoor enthusiests.

Note that the seal of John Porter, which was originally visible on this document, has been lost. Its scar can be seen in the bottom-right corner of the document.
Another point of interest is the change in ink colour after the word "followeth". Perhaps the introductory section was written ahead of time, with the detail of the will added at a later date.

Little white dove,
As you fly up to gods light
Take my angel on your wings tonight.
Let my prayer for him be heard,
Carry it with you every word.
When you reach the heavens above,
Fly back to me little white dove.
For on your wings I know I''ll find,
The love frome the angel that once was mine.

The St Ives Lifeboat was pushed out of it's boathouse so that the tractor could be used to tow a stranded 4x4 out of the water. Part of the crew were called out to attend to this when they only had a few hours sleep after being out all night. Something to consider when we mess about in boats.
Result, one hazard to shipping removed and a 4x4 writen off!
This is what is so good about digital. 20mm, f22 at 1/40. There is no way you would get a decent picture, hand held, out of a film camera with these settings. I had to clip the top of the bow out of the frame, because that is where the sun was. I also like how the wide angle distorts the shape of the Lifeboat, makes it look rather elegant, rather than dumpy.
Should I be mean and post the video on youtube?

... and Leonard Cohen sang by K D Lang - Listen
Your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you
She tied you
To a kitchen chair
She broke your throne, and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah!
You say I took the name in vain
I don't even know the name
But if I did, well really, what's it to you?
There's a blaze of light
In every word
It doesn't matter which you heard
The holy or the broken Hallelujah
I did my best, it wasn't much
I couldn't feel, so I tried to touch
I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you
Leonard Cohen
...and I can't resist writing just a few words from a very beautiful book writen by a special person and a special writer... these words reminded me of someone else special as well:
...Afuera el viento le hace el coro, ayudandola a despertar el alma de Magallanes. Ante sus ojos veran pasar otros paisajes. En vez de vestiqueros, les cuenta de valles y vinedos, desiertos y llanuras. Otras vidas en ciudades hacia el Norte, tan parecidas y tan lejanas. Les dice que no estan solos, nadie esta', pese a tanta miseria, a tanto dolor.
La noche esconde el frio, y al salir el viento sopla un poco menos... Solo por esa noche.

In an attempt to be banned from the florida flickr ers group, whose admin has gone nuts and has been banning people who post photos taken in florida but are not of florida she posted this on the site
"If you don't like the rules or don't want to have respect for others in the group, then DON"T JOIN! I am not a nice person when people are stupid! Ignorance can be cured with teaching, stupidity has no hope! I am not finished yet. There are still many photos to be removed and there will be more people banned."
Becky Lou has a screw loose she has lost her grip on reality and started taking flickr "WAY" to seriously. I was always of the opinion that this was supposed to be for fun..Her butt cheeks are so tight that if she swallowed a dollar she would expel nickels!
The group is down to 309 members and probably should be disbanded.
Apryl Wiese and UCF Grad 1999 are two people I know who have been banned and I think it is time for me to get banned also.
Found this picture, broken on a wall down in the dock area of Barcelona. Writen on the wall beside it was a message but most of it had been washed away in the rain. Think the person in the image had died or had broken the writer's heart! Sad.

"An Angel in a Dog Suit" he has been called by someone who knew him well. There are some dogs you don't really know what they are going to do under extreme stress, extreme pain or pinned by crowds. This sweetie has passed every test. He could be trusted surrounded by a group of screaming ten year olds all trying to pet him at the same time, probably poking him in the eye by accident or stepping on his remaining front paw. It didn't matter. Love and companionship was what he had to offer. He proved it over and over. He was even writen up in the local paper because of his role as mascot for the local camp for kids and how much he helped potentially fearful children learn to hike with confidence with Oscar pulling up the rear herding his flock.
Another of my Dad's photos I came across. On another copy of this he has writen "Borthwick Bank 15/8/48".
Consulting Mr Google about South of Scotland floods in August 1948 found the following on the BBC website,
The deluge and downpours of recent weeks make it easy to think that the washout Scottish summer is a thoroughly modern phenomenon. People in the Borders know different.
The scenes at Kilbirnie in Ayrshire and in north east Fife in recent weeks have carried echoes of traumatic events from exactly 60 years ago. By 12 August 1948, many parts of Berwickshire had been hit by one third of their annual rainfall - in the space of just six days. The floods it caused have been described as the greatest natural disaster in the history of the Borders.
A coach had to be pulled from the River Whiteadder The rivers Tweed, Blackadder, Whiteadder, Till and Eye Water all overflowed causing huge amounts of damage. A seven-foot wall of water from the Whiteadder swept over Cumledge Mills near Duns and 42 workers houses adjoining the mills. Heavy machinery was lifted from its floor fixings and walls and roofs collapsed.
Low lying farmland near Ayton was turned into a giant inland lake estimated to be more than a mile long and 28ft (8.53m) deep containing 400 million gallons (1,820 million litres) of water. The lake was only held back by a 60ft (18.28m) high railway embankment on the main Berwick to Edinburgh line. There were fears the embankment could collapse sending the water rushing down a gorge onto nearby Eyemouth.

Border Floods of 1948
Not so Glorious Twelfth
By Philip Eden
Sixty years ago this month one of Scotland's most destructive floods of the last century struck hardest in the Scottish Borders, especially in Tweeddale. It was, ironically, the Glorious Twelfth, when the moors of Berwickshire, Roxburgh, Selkirk and Peebles would normally be teeming with shooting parties.
In purely statistical terms, it ranked just below the worst rainstorms ever recorded in the UK; 100mm or more of rain fell across an area of 2050 square kilometres in 24 hours on the 12th, compared with 2750 square kilometres during the Norfolk deluge of August 26, 1912. However, most of the rain in the 1948 downpour fell in 12 hours, and there had been 20-25mm late on the 11th as well.
The cost of damage caused by the flood was put at almost two million pounds at the time in Berwickshire alone (the worst affected county), equivalent to about 40 million pounds at 2008 prices.
The summer of 1948 was a frightful one, much wetter and windier and cooler than the present season, relieved only by a five-day heatwave at the end of July which coincided with opening of the Olympic Games in London. The beginning of August was very unsettled with rain at regular intervals, and at Kingside-in-Lammermuir (East Lothian) 131mm of rain fell between the 6th and 11th inclusive, followed by 139mm on the 12th itself. At Floors Castle (near Kelso), the seat of the Duke of Roxburgh, 158mm fell on the 12th, with 55mm during the preceding six days.
The Duke wrote to the Met Office that the flood on the River Tweed on his estate peaked 5.2m above normal, some 15cm above the previous peak which had occurred in 1831. The Scottish Office report revealed that two road bridges and seven railway bridges were destroyed by the floods in the Eye Valley alone, while a huge lake over 1km wide and up to 12m deep formed where the main London to Edinburgh railway line crossed the Horn Burn a few kilometres inland from Eyemouth.
Contemporary press reports describe the flood thus:
"The Whiteadder, running from the heart of the Lammermuirs, rose 16 feet (4.9m) above normal while the Tweed rose 17 feet (5.2m). Nothing could stand against this rapidly rising torrent of water. Stock which had not time to reach higher ground were swept away and drowned. Trees, shrubs, wooden buildings, fencing and other debris floated down-river, to be later piled upon the beaches as they reached tidal waters. Carcases of animals also lay there in numbers. So many bridges have been swept away - forty in Berwickshire and Northumberland alone - and many more have been rendered unsafe, that transport has been completely dislocated.'
Some 40,000 million litres of water poured into the sea at Berwick during the subsequent 24 hours - the equivalent of 18 days' water consumption for the whole of Scotland.
