On a small peninsula in the bay of Sveti Marek, above the small sandy beach on the island of Krk there is a church dedicated to St Mark. First writen mentioned has been in the Bishop's Visitation of 1565, but the style of the construction reveals that it is much older. It was probably built at the end of the 12th century and beginning of the 13th century, but it has been abandoned from 1790. Archaeologists found ancient remains around the church and under the sea they discovered the remains of a villa rustica, indicating that it was inhabited in Roman times.

This is my contribution to demonstrating against any kind of censoring art.
Originally it had "censored" writen on it, but I like it better this way.
No rubber ducks were harmed in the making of this picture and .. uhm well, the squid was deep-frozen when I bought it.

Dawn on the last day of September. A HDR of 3 photos fused together. I think it works quite well but Im sure my friends here will let me know one way or the other.

There are people here on Flickr, who for some reason, never fave anyones photos. I always favourite photos that I like and if time allows I will add a comment as well. Adding a comment and not faving a photo stinks.It reminds me of being back at school where the teacher comments on your writen work but wont give you a star because they dont consider your work of a high enough standard. Please fave other peoples photographs as in spite of what some say. it is a great barometer of how good a photo is and encourages others to assess and improve there photos. Ive put this in my profile from day one when I joined so I will remove people from my friends list, who dont ever fave my photos or indeed anyone elses either.
So do it! It will make you feel good and give a boost and inspire the receiver as well! Now isnt that really what Flickr is all about! Pat.
Sorry I havent been around as Ive had no computer for 2 weeks. Just got a new one on Friday last. Trying to learn how to use it.I wont be able to put up an/y pics for a while but of course I will fave and comment all your great photos!!!

it still looks very much the same now than it did back then , my first job out of school was here , the village is that old it is writen in the doomsday book 1000 years ago

I'm very impressive by this 50$ vintage lense of the sixties ! This lens have the Carl Zeiss Biotar formula and produce a beautiful bokkeh !
Helios-44 is a series of standard lenses for SLR cameras, produced in Soviet Union by KMZ, MMZ, Jupiter from 1958 till 1992 (2001?) and it is considered to be one of most mass produced lenses in the world. Based on the lens Biotar 2 / 58 , at the beginning was called "... cyrillic " (BioTar Krasnogorski). A fast 6-element anastigmat, it was available in both single-coated and multi-coated versions.
The name of Helios lenses are usually writen as Helios-44X-N, where X -is the index of lens mount (M for m42 thread, K for Pentax K bayonet, Д for Zenit-D bayonet) and N is a optical resolution index 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 (the higher number the higher is an optical resolution of lens)."

Mostly I can guess which of my photo will have more faves than usual for me (apart from the photos that are selected to Flickr Explore - there I think a lot of faves aren't deserved, I've noticed that most people there just click and he won't even look at the picture, but it's about something other than what I want to write now).
Sometimes I even know at the beginning of a photo shoot whether this photo will be much or less popular.
But my favorite photos aren't the ones that have a lot of faves. I think that one should not follow what others like, but should take their own special photos, and that is why this one is here today :)
