SWINGING FLUXUS
It is a box containing 20 postcards representing several dance couples and a little wood box containing several domino pieces in which it is writen on both sides the names of several FLUXUS artists. They are the FLUXUS SWINGERS.
The game consists in displaying the cards on a table arranged at one's will and putting on every one of them a couple or three the domino pieces with the FLUXUS artists.
The best way is doing everything at random.
Then by seeing the images and the names one has to imagine what kind of artistic couple or trio or quartet they hace could be and thinking about the kind of works they would have create together, etc.
King Alfonso The Wise.
He was King of Castilla and Leon between 1221 and 1252. He fought the muslims in the long (700+ years) fight known as the "Reconquista", to reconquer the iberian territories lost to muslims.

This poem, writen by Primo Levi after spending eleven months as a prisoner in a concentration camp, was inspired on a part of the most important prayer in Judaism Shema Yisrael:

Photos of today´s repression in Chile. As the constitution writen in Pinoche´s regime allows you to gather in public spaces , it´s mandatory to ask permission to the autorities 48 hours prior to the rally. Also the goverment can deny permission. As today the students called to march in the main street , Alameda, the where severly repressed by police.

"The Torrid Taps" was one of many acts on display at the "Georgiantics '41: A Musical Revue". According to the program, it was presented by the students of Sir George Williams College at Victor Hall in Montreal on March 27, 28 and 29 of 1941.
This particular number featured my mother, second from the right. The music for "Torrid Taps" was writen by her first husband, Fred. He also played the piano and directed the production, as well as writing much of the music and lyrics.
Mom was featured in two numbers, this one which closed the first act, as well as the first act opener called "Georgiantics '41"
She was 19 years old at this time and practically living with Fred, although they did not get married until the end of WWII.

Nanuuk - one of ancient gods known from Norse myhology was supposed to be the one overlooking water element in all states. He was the one bringing heavy rain or blizzards, putting the dew over the plants in the morning as well as taking lives in devastating floods. Because water is considered as a main element in Iceland Nanuuk was worshiped with great respect. Almost every family used to have sculture at home, made from floating lava stone, which was painted with use of natural inks.
Nanuuk was symbolized as a young man with tatooed face and deep blue eyes which were, according to old literature, able to shoot frozen drops on others. He was also very handsome with great interest in young women and that is why locals were trying to please him by offering him young daughters. They were chained to the stone outside the village and had to stay there over stormy night while, as people believed, Nanuuk was enjoyng their beauty by transfering himself in to drops of rain.
Nanook worshiping slowly disappeard with comming Christianity and became almost forgotten in 15 century. There are only 3 known sculptures left in Icelandic museum of history and maybe few more in personal collections. I got lucky to get photographed one of them :)

Contrary to what's been writen here regarding information available online regarding the Alberni Valley Log Train Trail, it seems there IS information out there online. Basically the story of the trail goes like this: The trail’s history dates back to the early 1900s when it was constructed as a railway line to service the Bainbridge Mill, which operated from 1917-27. The mill included a small settlement of homes and a school. Bainbridge was internationally famous for the size and quality of lumber of its timber. Some of the timbers were close to a hundred feet long and measured ove a metre square. Some of the wood shipped from Bainbridge was used to construct the the canals between the Great Lakes in Ontario.
The Log Train Trail Regional Park is a Linear Park leased to the Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District by the Ministry of Transportation and Highways and is located in the Alberni Valley. The Trail stretches for 22km along the western base of the Beaufort Range. It is accessible from many points along its route. The Log Train Trail is suitable for family outings by walkers, cyclists or equestrians. The trail is designated as non- motorized.
The Bainbridge Mill was closed in 1927 and the railway was abandoned, only to be re-opened a decade later. The railbed today extends 22km westward to its Woolsey Road trailhead. Port Alberni Equine Society is credited with having the foresight and initiative to recognize the old railline's potential as a recreational gem and hence its usefulness today to outdoor enthusiests.

As the sun set, I was to leave the Dark Lord away north and travel on, to return south.
So here I am having returned home, my head is simply spinning.
This had been such a whirlwind summertime that I couldn’t be sure if I had really travelled to such distant parts.
Was this a dream or had just I succumbed to the windmiIls?
Were these The Windmills of My Mind or Yours?

- Fluoresent yellow thin cartboard, bought in an office- / advertising- / artists- supplies shop.
- Covered in adhesive plastic foil to make them waterproof and writable with whiteboardmarker.
- Black whiteboard marker pen to write/draw the destinations. And some paper clothes to whipe out when new destination needs to be writen on the boards.
- Letter font is identical to the font used on local traffic signs, so the shape of the names is a little easier to recognize from a distance.
- The size of the boards is at least the size of a regular dutch or german car licenseplate.
- 3 seperate boards stuck together with white gaffertape.
- Board 1: "Rheine" = Next big city on the route.
- Board 2: "A30 (NL)" = Roadnumber after next motorwayjunction. In the direction of The NetherLands.
- Board 3: "Hengelo" = End destination.

We finished our evening today shopping for local handicrafts at a store near the separation wall in Bethlehem.
This is the Palestinian side of the wall. As you can see it is covered with graffiti. Many of the messages on the wall are pro-Palestine, anti-war, or about the heartbreak of separation from loved ones. Unfortunately, there are also some hateful, messages written as well.
The Israeli side has no graffiti on it. Anything painted on it, is painted over soon after.
The posters you see here were writen by local women affected by the separation wall. The three posters here read as follows:

Each Christmas the good tidings to the shephers are commemorated at the Shepherds' Firleds in Beit Sahour. As a child it was magical for me. I remember the candle light processions to the Shepherd Fields in the middle of the night. There we sang, prayed, ate together and made a big fire. Afterwards we attended mass in the church and had breakfast with chocolate and wine. We visited out family and friends to wish each other Merry Christmas. There was no Wall and no checkpoint. No one would say: 'You are not allowed to enter this place.' Things could not be more different now!

We have an aunt living behind the wall, on the Jerusalem side. Before they built th wall we used to visit her all the time but now we can only go when we have a permit, maybe at Christmas. But then most of the time they only give me a permit and not my husband, or the other way round. But we want to go as a family, to feel freedom, to go and see the sea, for instance. The children ask me, 'Mama, we want to go and have fun, why can't we go?' I tell them that we cannot go because we are living in a prison and do not have permission to leave. We cannot go because we are controlled by the Israelis. I tell them because I think they need to know.

σύνθημα σε τοίχο. Στην αρχή κάποιοι νεοναζί είχαν γράψει το σύνθημα που βλέπεται μέσα στο τετράγωνο. Στην συνέχεια κάποιοι αναρχικοί έκαναν το περίγραμμα (για κόψιμο) και έγραψαν αυτά από κάτω :-)
The phrase inside the square is a fascist sign that says "sons of a whores anarchist you will all get in the nazis oven(it means Gas chambers)" it was writen some time ago. Then the anarchist put the square outline and wrote under "time to cut (stop) the crap"
