A walk down George Street Sydney shows the extent of recent 'finishing works' with a team laying pavers between the tracks and on footpaths disturbed during construction.
The major activity over the last week or two at Circular Quay has been the construction of a scissors crossing, in Alfred Street, between George and Pitt Streets. This shots were taken on a Saturday and show the construction team hard at work.
Track laying continues between Parkham Place and South Dowling Street with the contractor laying reinforcing.

Wansey Road highlights!
The lads were having lunch when I arrived at Wansey Road today. I'm very impressed with the bronze cladding, and the job being done applying it. Sensational!
Photographed by a mate! Here's the crew on Sydney Light Rail who completed the Moore Park scissors crossover on which they're posing so proudly! The crossover is one of six on the line, which will be completed between 2019 and 2020.

100% isn't a bad score!
By my reckoning teams from Sydney Light Rail have now completed laying the tracks in Devonshire Street between Chalmers and Randle Streets and South Dowling Street.
The teams are now tidying up and commencing the task of re-laying the road surface and sorting out the kerb and guttering. No doubt spanpoles and overhead will follow.
One of the busiest stops on the new line will be Central - Chalmers Street. This stop currently being constructed alongside Platforms 16-23 (and on top of Illawarra/Eastern Suburbs line) platforms will comprise three platforms, the third will be used to handle passenger traffic heading towards the Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney Football Stadium and Royal Randwick.
Here a small workteam finalises the installation of track at the northern turnout.

It's a few weeks since we visited the future Lilyfield Depot site. The trip was worthwhile with activity on all fronts.

Work continues in High Street Randwick.on the terminal stop for the Randwick Branch of the line.
Only short lengths of track remain to be laid, the platform canopy is well under way as are the electrics and a full complement of spanpoles now line the street.

The operation to lilft the ice from the pond level to the wagon, a pulley manned by volunteers (left) raise the heavy ice up to a platform and wagon (right). One downside to the Opteka lens is that such bright lighting shows the inside of the adapter and in a photo like this you cannot simply raise the black level in post to eliminate it without messing the image.

Royal Randwick - the tidy up!
Crews are at work tidying up and 'finishing' the Alison Road work zones near Randwick Racecourse. Here are just a few of the photographs I took earlier today as I walked along Alison Road.
On the southern side of Darley Road a work crew builds kerbing and guttering beside the finished tracks.
