Since our project wasn't actually due today, I don't have class Fridays, and I'm out of workstudy, today was basically a weekend day. I was already on campus to workout at 8 AM, so I went ahead and got some work done on our project afterwards. I left at about noon and came home to find a package for me. I had a bought a clear 7" vinyl just two days before and had not expected it to get here so fast. I really need to get a turntable soon before I become addicted to collecting vinyl. I think that eventually vinyl may be preferred way to buy music because almost all new records come with mp3 downloads of the tracks anyway.
Tonight was also the Crimson Circle formal. I slept most of the afternoon and then started to get ready around 4. We were picked up from campus around 6:30 and headed to Shanghai Red's in the marina. The food was awesome, and at about 10 o'clock, our own Joe Lum dj'ed until about midnight. It was a really fun night and the only downside of the night was the expensive drinks. The night made graduation seem even closer and it was kinda sad to know that was our last big event with Crimson Circle...
*The pictured vinyl happens to be Japandroids, who I will be seeing Thursday night as a birthday gift to myself. I can't wait!

This is a series I did during my summer Workstudy program at the Maine Media Workshops in Rockport, ME. It focuses on light and how that light reinhabits abandoned places and becomes part of the process of nature reclaiming human structures. These were taken in abandoned mills and housing projects around rural Maine during the summer of 2007.

Different signs (printed on old tax forms and discontinued workstudy time sheets) were posted around campus and decorated with re-purposed book jackets.

My workstudies are so cool. They got me this cake as my "last day" present before I moved upstairs to take my new job.
