"The PanAm Games remind me of the Olympics.. so, in the design, I implemented the 4 circles that are a portion of the well known olympic sports' logo.

In addition, my theme was 'unity' so I combined the first cyclist's tire with the second's cyclist, and then superimposed the tire of the third cyclist to the previous one in order to represent a form of unity in the drawing.

My composition was also partly inspired by A.Neate's sculpted artwork representation of cyclists.

With only 3 hours to complete this entire mural, I plotted the points in accordance to my scaled drawing and began to chalk in the outlines of the design as seen here in this picture (above).

I am now hoping that my art team will help me block in the colors to save time with the completion of this mural painting."

DAY ONE: Planning the Mural Artwork by Tomitheos

"I had about a week to finish this project,

I took the measurements of the public phone utility box that was going to be my canvas,

the front measured at 9 feet wide the sides were about a foot and the height stood at 5 feet.

The challenge was painting the imagery on its perforated surface..

but if planned correctly, the mural scene will give the pedestrian an inviting optical illusion effect as they pass by the artwork."
