CN 5419 makes a backing move across Industrial Avenue in Owen after spotting cars at Nor-Am Cold Storage. This is the L57181 local from Marshfield that only has some car assembly left in town before heading back toward Marshfield. The crew will have to wait out a few trains before proceeding. Owen has a nice assortment of industrial trackage service a number of industries. It was interesting to see a crew actively switching.

Portrait of a trained fishing Great cormorant (Phalacrocorax carbo) standing on a fishing net, Li River near Xingping Fishing Village, Guangxi Province, China. The birds have a life span of up to 25 years. The practice of fishing with cormorants is an ancient tradition in China that is now dying out as the fish populations decline in the rivers and it is now practised primarily for the tourist industry. This bird was preening and had a feather stuck to its bill.

Park visitors brought a desk to the beach for a photo shoot and left it when rain started. It spent the night in the tide and was ruined. What a waste.

Working on the house remodel is a dusty job

Another one of the amazing crab catcher from The Fall Of David and Got One. This Gull gave so many great photos skilfully catching crab after crab. Sadly I haven't seen it since then. If it's time has come it's a shame that it didn't pass this valuable knowledge to others.

Cheers everyone.

big thanks to the driver for stopping in a good position (for a change ! ) .

Work has been so demanding recently, the spare time I've had has been used up in the garden. These muddy boots give you an indication of just how hard I've been working. ;-)

My photography has taken a back seat for a couple of weeks, I hope to get back into it soon.

We have been working on a previously useless part of the garden to create a vegetable patch.

A drive outside of Ha Noi quickly lands you in rural farmlands and fields. Such peaceful scenes with usually one or two people working in each of the fields and a glimpse into the Vietnam's past and of course present. The large cities of Southeast Asia are often a tangled mess of vehicles and modern conveniences linked together with unsightly power lines. But it is in the countryside where one can still see the appeal of Southeast Asia.
