one day at work there were these workers putting gravel on top of the roof right next to where I work.
It was rather funny, since one day they did a very "masculine" job of putting gravel on top of the roof, the next day, they were all on their knees planting flowers...
Due to my misunderstanding of the vignette D application, unfortunately all these photos are very small and rough...(which is a pity, since these are one of my favourites)

These images are from my shoot today at a brick factory. All these workers have been with the company for over 25 years. Doing anything for 25 years gets my respect!

Students and workers at a protest rally respond to Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker's proposal to erode pay, benefits, and rights of state employees, including teachers, researchers and working students, to fill a state budget gap.
Many of the rights Walker wants to restrict, roll back, or eliminate, including collective bargaining rights and union dues deduction, were precisely the rights that Memphis' municipal waste collectors were striking for in 1968 when Dr. King joined them. It was in that struggle for worker rights that Dr. King was assassinated.
My tastes are different. This is one of my favorites. It's like a classic greek play. This man is in the clouds. And next to enormous power. Plus, he's got a guard to make sure no one pulls him out of the clouds.
In 2124, when humanity had finally resolved all conflicts on earth and started gazing outwards, they needed a cheap and efficient craft to manipulate debris in space. The Worker Bee was the solution: cheap to build, cheap to maintain, but incredibly reliable. As its inventor Trevor McGregor always said: "It ain't designed to win no fancy awards, just git the job done."
I've been building on this small craft for more than six years. It has been wrecked by moves and children until I finally decided to finish it. I'm particularly pleased with the sliding mechanism in the center. It's held in place by an old M-Tron magnet and is really satisfying to slide back and forth.

Liverpool, UK. 25th May 2017..Social workers’ 100 mile anti-austerity march reaches Liverpool..Picture by Simon Hadley...Social workers have reached Liverpool’s Pier Head following a seven day, 100 mile walk from Birmingham to protest against austerity. Film director Ken Loach has endorsed the Boot Out Austerity campaign, saying: “Austerity is causing chaos in the lives of so many, and this needs to be confronted”.
Setting off from the head office of the British Association of Social Workers (BASW) in Birmingham, the team arrived in Liverpool on Tuesday 25th April, the day before BASW’s annual Conference and AGM. Hillsborough campaigner Margaret Aspinall will be addressing delegates at the conference. Each evening along the route, walkers shared stories at meetings and events, and were fed and housed by churches and community groups.
BASW Chair Guy Shennan said: “Every day, social workers see the devastating impact of austerity in the lives of people they work with, yet this is not always so visible to the wider public. We wanted to draw attention to these effects of the austerity measures of the past seven years, as we believe that a growing awareness will lead to demands that these unnecessary measures are brought to an end. One of our inspirations was Ken Loach’s film, I, Daniel Blake, which showed the human costs of austerity through the medium of story-telling. We will be meeting people all along our route to Liverpool and want to hear and publicise as many stories as possible.”
The walkers received messages of support from social workers all over the country, who made clear that austerity’s effects have been felt across the full range of social services.
