International Workers' Day, also known as Workers' Day, Labour Day in some countries and often referred to as May Day, is a celebration of labourers and the working classes that is promoted by the international labour movement which occurs every year on May Day (1 May), an ancient European spring festival.
The date was chosen by a pan-national organization of socialist and communist political parties to commemorate the Haymarket affair, which occurred in Chicago on 4 May 1886. The 1904 Sixth Conference of the Second International, called on "all Social Democratic Party organisations and trade unions of all countries to demonstrate energetically on the First of May for the legal establishment of the 8-hour day, for the class demands of the proletariat, and for universal peace."

The term "migrant worker" has different official meanings and connotations in different parts of the world. The United Nations' definition is broad, including any people working outside of their home country. Some of these are called expatriates. Several countries have millions of foreign workers. Some have millions of illegal immigrants, most of them being workers also.
The term can also be used to describe someone who migrates within a country, possibly their own, in order to pursue work such as seasonal work.

Auf einmal musste ich mich heute spontan mit Asche aus unserem Ofen beschmieren, mit Wasser einsprühen und fotografieren. Der richtig dreckige Look kommt allerdings erst durch die Bearbeitung in LR und PS: Starke Anhebung der Klarheit bereits bei der RAW-Entwicklung, eine Hochpassfilterebene im Modus "ineinanderkopieren" drüberlegen, Schärfe rauf, d&b und so hat´s mir dann schließlich ganz gut gefallen.

Ali, onde livros, exposições e memórias de Quintana convidam à pausa e ao mergulho interior, o olhar se volta para fora e encontra a cena de um homem com mochila, carregando em passos anônimos um destino qualquer. Sua sombra, projetada com nitidez no chão, torna-se metáfora daquilo que permanece, mesmo no vaivém da pressa urbana: um traço de permanência no fluxo incessante, como se a poesia que habita a Casa de Cultura transbordasse pelas janelas e tocasse discretamente a vida da rua.

Su sombra, proyectada con nitidez en el suelo, se vuelve metáfora de lo que permanece incluso en medio de la prisa urbana: un rastro de permanencia en el flujo incesante, como si la poesÃa que habita la Casa de Cultura se desbordara por las ventanas y rozara discretamente la vida de la calle.
