Believe it or not, I didn't try to line up the captions in the background to be behind each player's head, the effect was completely accidental. The writing had been on the whiteboard for weeks. I was just trying to get everyone in the same shot and seeing the thought bubbles in the final print was a hilarious surprise.

The captions are a little fuzzy in the thumbnail, left-to-right they read: "This is way more fun than real work!", "Alright!" and "I'm the best fake soccer player ever!"

You don't gotta go to work...

I made a few notes on what I did. I hope it's useful to you. I would love to see what you shoot!

When you expose for the sky, you are adjusting your camera’s shutter speed (within your Sync Speed) and aperture settings to make the sky’s color as accurate as possible. This can be done in many ways, but I use this method.

1.Point the camera at the patch of the sky you want perfectly colored.

2.Switch your camera over to manual mode.

3.Pick an aperture that’s suitable for a sunny day (that’s usually F16).

4.Adjust your shutter speed until your camera’s light meter tells you that you’ve got an even and balanced shot.(within your Sync Speed)

5. Adjust the flash or strobe power to match the sky exposer. Most time I am on FULL power

6.Take the picture.

7.Adjust the flash distance to get the correct exposure.

For these images I used a studio strobe outside on full power. Specifically AlienBees AB800 with a battery pack.

I was recently reading an article/interview with Milton Glaser, who is one of America’s most prominent graphic designers, probably best known for the I heart NY logo. In the interview he was asked what was the best advice he could give his students, and he replied: “do good work”. I think this simple and fundamental advice is invaluable. In the end, if you do good work everything will fall in to place.

Work is a complex concept that has many meanings and manifestations. In general, it can be understood as a purposeful activity of a person that serves to satisfy his needs and at the same time brings a certain value to society.

VALENTINE DARLING COLLECTION

SPRING 2014

Very talented young man at work.

From a walk with the grandchildren in Vestre Plantage near Holstebro, Denmark - February 21, 2017.

That's my desk at work. I mostly write and do paper work.

I don't think there's enough STUFF in here.

made some new 'mario question' block stickers, man they take a while to make, but they seem to be worth it, i wonder whats holding me back from making a stencil?

anywho, been busy working the 2 jobs while trying to fix in some alone time for art and stickers.

I just sent out 7 packs of stickers, each containing an average of 15 sticks. but now that i am done people been hitting me up for more, my never-ending story, haha. Well now i got about 5 new people and a sticker show that ebliss is putting on, plus i wanna send out some more to close buds...so if you know who you are hit me up now before i forget!

Sorry for the long post, but its like my diary i suppose? I got some new shots (even more whenever the weather gets nice), some new paintings and a super secret coming up that i think is pretty cool shit!

take care, and feel free to leave a super long comment, i would love to read them at work instead of doing work!

cheers

Today, on Valentine's Day, at long last, Yi-wen and I bought our "mutual Christmas gift": a Pentax k100d. It's a nice entry-level dslr. Of course, now she claims that this is not "our gift" but my Christmas, Valentine's Day, and birthday gift.

Whatever.

Bought it this afternoon, took it in to work with me, and took this photo of a randomly chosen page from the dictionary on my desk.

Love the definition.

Posted large to get a feel for what the new toy is capable of.

It is called work out - not play out - because it isn't fun. I will get my body back. Failure is not an option.

I found this in the back alley behind my work. Funny thing, I don't know if that thing really works because my penis wouldn't fit in the box. Hmmm...

Central California, USA: Pinnacles National Monument, located near the San Andreas Fault along the boundary of the Pacific Plate and the North American Plate, is an excellent example of tectonic plate movement.

The Pinnacles Rocks are believed to be part of the Neenach Volcano that occurred 23 million years ago near present-day Lancaster, California, some 195 miles (314 km) southeast. The giant San Andreas Fault split the volcano and the Pacific Plate crept north, carrying the Pinnacles. The work of water and wind on these erodible volcanic rocks has formed the unusual rock structures seen today. Elevations range from 824 feet along South Chalone Creek to 3,304 feet atop North Chalone Peak. From www.nps.gov/pinn/naturescience/index.htm

The California Condor has made a comeback here, and my son, his wife, and I were thrilled (and a bit anxious) after reaching the top peaks, to see about 7 of them circling overhead. No, we did not lie down and play dead!

A picture taken last saturday at Trapani, Sicily, during a photowalk with others flickr contacts, and obtained from a single raw shot and after processed with Capture NX2.

Have a nice day and many thanks for your comments :)
