UP has mobilized several earth movers here on Big Ten between Rocky and the top of the curve. UP is using these large boulders to reinforce the grade and shore up the track.

This is the sink we do what we call "wet sanding" in; basically, sanding sprayed paint off of metal that's been photosensitized, and then etched and filled.

I see this now everyday; quite a turn from working as a supermarket assistant manager. But....the work is fun, the people are great to work with, I get to operate a large camere every day, I get to work with my hands, and best of all: I get my weekends back! Finally, after four years.....

Update 8/4/21: I left this job a few months back and am now working for a company in Owasso, along with some of my former coworkers from this company.

Update 3/12/23: I understand that this company has recently done some interior remodeling, and that this sink may no longer be intact.

The renovation continues !!!

after some requests i am placing a new photo of me at work

Looks like still has a bit of work left to finish the job.

Final work on the new canal bridge at Lapworth means a long walk from the vehicle park in Lapworth along tow paths past the bridge, over a bridge behind me and back along the opposite bank. One guy is doing just that as 66056 passes overhead with the 11.47 Didcot T.C. to Bescot Down sidings, the train consisted of 3 locomotives and was running 30 minutes early.

NM25 has not long departed Quorn with a combined work train to unload sleepers while transferring the loco and rollingstock to Port Augusta for the start of the steam season on 27-3-22

I'm happy I finished the major parts of my PhD! The work is big, really big, maybe too big (around 360 pages)? However I did a lot of work during the recent years so it is maybe justifiable. I skipped my journey to Etna in November missing this huge eruption and "preferred" working so it must become an excellent work! Well now it is over and parallel to learning for my final exam I continue with my hobbies photography/flickr! Enjoy my pictures and have fun,

Thomas

Yesterday I returned to work and by a total coincidence my second delivery of the day took me down the access road by the UK Rail depot to Leicester. My new iPhone came in handy.

On view in front of what appears to be a new part built shed are a couple of heritage class 37's from the early 1960's together with a rather forlorn class 60.

no, this is no selfie :-)

"It's Bring Your flickr Friends To Work Day...or A Day In My Work Life In 13 Parts."

So this is where I work. Built in 1913 as an assembly plant for Ford. Model T's were built here and it operated as an assembly line plant until 1932. It then became a Ford Parts warehouse until the 1950's. In the early 1960's, a guy who invented the hair curler opened up a factory in the building, and it became known as the Tip Top Building, as that was the brand of hair curler manufactured.......

Monday morning, the sun shining through the blind. This is my wall of fame !

Work can be so exhausting but if you have a goal take one step after another! Just do it!

Shooting in the landscaping of our corporate center after work.

Hard to believe how much exposure this photo has received by being on the Explore page. Hits up more than 1,000%.

I can't help but wonder if the algorithm that finally landed one of my photos in Explore took into account that I just canceled my Pro account (due to terms of service changes) and they want me to stay?

less time...to much work...

that's my work cube. lovely corporate beige, isn't it?
