Ever since I started work at Regal Hong Kong in 2000, i said to myself I need to photograph this foot bridge, it was build in 1963, 2 years before my birth, in the middle of Causeway Bay right next to Regal Hong Kong Hotel. It features a small exhibition in its circle of old wanchai scenes. its an ugly duckling but certainly has its own beauty as well, if you have any news, stories or anything you like to share about this footbridge please do.

10/04/21. Mai Po Marshes, New Territories, Hong Kong. A Toyota Coaster.

I took this at Indiana dunes last weekend and Its been my computer "wallpaper" since then. Watching my two boys jumping from dune to dune was so much fun, it still makes me smile thinking about it. Shooting into the sun obviously creates some backlight problems, so i used a good amount of fill flash.

Happy Monday to all of you and hope this brightens your day!

The warmth of the sun brought this little one out of hiding … hope it was not a bad decision. I was pleased to be able to freeze the action in this shot.

Made with scraps of felted wool from old sweaters and all packaged up with vintage Christmas wrapping... More here:

Strobist: AB800 high and camera right in Softbox,

I saw these strange looking creatures all over today. They are some sort of Wooly Aphid, subfamily: Eriosomatinae. (Andover, NJ)

Hey all! I hope you've been well!

Introducing... Sung Jin-Woo from Solo Leveling! And Igris, his first summon.

Bet you didn't see this coming did ya! Wanted to practice some modeling along with the LEGO theme, and ended up with this! I love Solo Leveling, and wanted to see how I could translate the property to "what if LEGO..."

The art style of Solo Leveling presented a few challenges that I had fun trying to work within. The style itself is pretty simple and sharp with a lot of focus on silhouettes and shadow instead of more explicit detail and texture, which I tried to honor. The hardest place with this was actually Ji-Woo's hair. I added only the hair strands that would affect the silhouette I wanted and beyond that just kept it smooth. Then I just messed with that balance until I was satisfied with it both under normal lighting (if it was an actual piece) and with the stylized lighting. I'm pretty happy with it!

Next, the big modeling challenge, Igris. This was so much fun! The last modeling thing that I did like this was Komamura's head piece, so it was fun to flex those muscles again. The fun part as always is adapting to LEGO. I thought about doing Igris as another normal minifig at first, but quickly decided against it, and instead thought along the lines of a General Grievous or even the Groot build from the marvel line, which gave me the liberty to model every part of his body. Then connecting them as I went. Ball joints, normal peg joints, etc.

I really like what I ended up with. Maintaining his form and silhouette while (some tips for those who want to do stuff like this too..) deliberately giving more lego-like proportions, a sufficient level of detail removal/exaggeration etc. Really happy with the result.

The sword is def the least LEGO-like part of this whole thing, not really satisfied there, but wanted to get back to bleach so I called it good enough lol.

I included a standard-lit model for a better look at the actual parts. Let me know what you think! Do you want more solo-leveling in the future??

Flatidae hopper that had just emerged. You can see the molt with wooly tail. Found it at night: orionmystery.blogspot.com/2012/05/night-macro.html

Bought this little gem a while ago but had no time to play with her. I am looking for the original Lati WoO Sophie wig as the seller did not have it.

Please help me find her wig! If you have one or know of someone whi has it, please let me know!! :-)

I quite like my garden a bit wild and neglected. Its kind of comfy, like a wooly cardy. There's a few spots of colour this afternoon, but the predicted wind could change all that overnight. So I thought I'd have something to remember it by ;)

A still life that isn't still. Thanks to the LSA Hula vase!
