MOC: Wolverine SS. A vintage sports coupé built on the modern LEGO 4x12 car base. The colours made me think of a wolverine, so the name was pretty much a given.
The wolverine was always great to see. Not often photographable as they rarely stop moving and are usually behind a bush.
Perhaps my favorite critter of the far north. Wolverines have been known to run Grizzlies off their kills. Got to deep down admire their tenacity- and cunning ways!!!

Although nor really native to Michigan, at least for a long, long time, the mascot of The University Of Michgan's sports teams.
Despite their cute looks and amusing, ambling gait, they are pound for pound one of the fiercest creatures around, and can bring down animals many times thier size.
The next stop on the June 2023 Ohio trip was supposed to be Oglebay, but due to rain in the forecast we went ahead to Columbus instead. My first exhibit stop at Columbus is usually the wolverines, to see them while they're awake :) She was chewing on a bone with her head behind a bit of wall. Most wolverines in US zoos are from Europe, not here!

I built these for a feature in issue 20 of Blocks magazine. They were a lot of fun to work on, and posed some interesting challenges, particularly Mystique.
So I decided to try a shimano rx05 on the front with a set of continental grandprix4000ii 25mm tires for some summer fun and it is a pretty fast set up. However, my ultimate goal for wolverine 2.0 is a set of polished silver velocity ailerons with an sp pl-8 dynamo front hub and staying with shimano alfine 11 in the back.

Just before closing of the Gaiapark Zoo the Wolverines were fed. Gaiapark is one of, or even the only Zoo with Wolverines. If you take your time to watch them they are really fun.
