Before our tour group came, the Wolves were resting peacefully. With us as observers, they began pacing.
They had a Coyote collection too.
We did hear the Wolves' Howl and the Coyotes Yip while we were there.
A little wildlife park where you can see wolves, foxes and coyotes up close and personal. You can become a wolf sponsor and go in and get "wolf kisses". There are demonstration where you can watch bison chase wolves...or is that the other way around? In 20+ years, neither side has been injured more than pride.
I asked and their collection is pure Bison, not hybridized Beefalo. Hybridized Beefalo were created for the ease of handling (docility) and meat production.
This is a research facility with the subjects, though wild, have been acclimated to people.
Respiration rates, heart rates and metabolism are charted and analyzed.
Family units and genetic structures are also observed and monitored here.
The wolves are fenced in with a high fence. A lower fence about four feet outside of that is where visitors stand. A guide stands between the two fences to talk about the wolves. They have 'serious photographer' tours where you can get right up to the inner fence to take pictures. I hope to do that before the year is over. Most of my pics show the fence somewhat.
