The tundra wolf (Canis lupus albus), also known as the Turukhan wolf, is a subspecies of grey wolf. t is a large subspecies, with adult males measuring 118–137 cm (46.5–54 in) in body length, and females 112–136 cm (44–53.5 in).

Wolf spiders (family lycosidae) live throughout the world and most do so as solitary creatures. You can tell it is a Wolf spider by the 8 eyes and their arrangement. You can often see the females carrying a large egg sac and then lots of little spiderlings just after it pops.
They might put quite a fright in you, but they shouldn't give ya too much harm.
I found this girl on the wall in the garage. She was SUPER fast, and didn't like my lens up in her grill. But she managed to stay still long enough for a few shots. These pics were taken in a cardboard box with white paper laid inside. A white board bounced the flash. Canon's 100mm macro is a very good lens.
If anyone knows the species, i would love to know. It is hard to ID down to species with Wolf spiders.
We were wondering where this guys pack was and then about a mile down the road we caught up with 8 more of them. They were too far away to capture though.
Though you can't tell from this photo, this lovely, rescued wolf only has three legs.
