Jimmy Tu was kind/foolish enough to lend me his head for modeling a Japanese warrior. Jimmy's an animator and immediately struck the expression I wanted... sort of a grimace, but very Japanese.
Background
3Guppies believed Facebook was a perfect audience for our add-on applications. When it was determined we should create an application for displaying a user's dynamic public moblog on Facebook, the first step was to scope the project and determine the amount of work involved.
Description
This diagram shows the path a Facebook user would follow to add and use the application, the different pieces that would be produced for each step, and examples of possible designs for these pieces.
Once upon a time a "wireframe" was a frame... made of wires. Not a badly rendered 3D computer image.
Background
As we evolved Mixxer from a "premium ringtone" site and towards providing all types of free mobile content we needed to reorganize the navigation to reflect how we expected visitors to use the site. Whereas previously the main navigation took users to a premium catalog, a thin "Community" area and to some personal storage and settings, we now wanted to emphasize all the free content options.
Proposed Solution
This diagram proposes adding an Intro page before the the Home page and landing pages for each type of media (audio, pictures, video, and tools for gathering and creating more stuff). It also addresses the paths for a large population of returning members who may still want ringtones.
This is the default entry page for returning users (i.e. those with an account). Hit PodServe and you hit this page. Your podcasts are listed at the top right corner. You can add a recording to an existing podcast with one click - this is the most used feature and should be easy. Most users only have one or two podcasts (not five). If you have more than five the rest are listed on a second page you can reach via the more button. The news window allows us to provide messages to users - generic at first, but custom in the future. The create podcast button is not the final version...

While you can't tell from the pictures, but the two scooters chase each other around the planet, each with a unique personality. One tends to lag behind the other one, but it will occasionally cut some corners and then get ahead, bragging (by blinking) to the other one. The first one periodically goads the follower by blinking as well. The "logic" is really just a bunch of perlin noise functions, transformations, and thresholds.
The whole scooter thing is just an experiment in adding colored lighting to the scene out of control. When a scooter blinks, up to four extra point lights are stacked in the scene for extra brightness.
I'm not sure how much time I've just spent watching them run around while I tuned the constants. I had to make camera controls for myself just so I could watch them.

I wanted to go based on a project for Motion Graphics, where we created a TV Show. I wanted to promote a TV show that talks about the what the TV Show is about and maybe even considered putting an open forum for other people to comment about the "TV show". I will also promote having the logo and other designs into different things, like shirts, key chains and hats.
