Took this photo in an old abandoned house where my Great Grandparents used to live. Standing in a cold dark room where the floor was caving in and bits of the ceiling were scattered around my feet it was nice to see this light softly falling on parts of the house bringing a little color and warmth back to the place.

Winter Wonderland written in 1934 by Felix Bernard (composer)
and Richard B. Smith (lyricist).
There are lots of interpretations. Here comes Pat Boone:

Sleigh bells ring, are you listening,
In the lane, snow is glistening
A beautiful sight,
We're happy tonight.
Walking in a winter wonderland.
Gone away is the bluebird,
Here to stay is a new bird
He sings a love song,
As we go along,
Walking in a winter wonderland.
In the meadow we can build a snowman,
Then pretend that he is Parson Brown
He'll say: Are you married?
We'll say: No man,
But you can do the job
When you're in town.
Later on, we'll conspire,
As we dream by the fire
To face unafraid,
The plans that we've made,
Walking in a winter wonderland.
In the meadow we can build a snowman,
And pretend that he's a circus clown
We'll have lots of fun with mister snowman,
Until the other kids knock him down.
When it snows, ain't it thrilling,
Though your nose gets a chilling
We'll frolic and play, the Eskimo way,
Walking in a winter wonderland.
The creek beside my house in Heritage Lake IN, after the big snowfall. The impression of a dreamscape.
Winter garden,
the moon thinned to a thread,
insects singing.

-- As broadcasted by the media, Pacific Northwest has been slammed by twin winter storms. Snow keeps falling since last night and in some places it accumulates as thick as 16 inches and counting.
