This is the final photo in my winter series 2012 of dead flowers and weeds I found on my journey aound our 10 acres. Time to focus on springtime, now.
Snow gathers on a winters day along the riverside makes for a spectacular wonderland.
Pushing on that trigger is like pulling magic into my very soul...Darrell.

There is no doubt that when it comes to accessibility, uniqueness, and natural beauty, the Gullfoss waterfall is the most beautiful frozen waterfall to see in Iceland during winter. Widely considered the most famous waterfall in Iceland, the name directly translates to "Golden Falls." But in winter, we might call it "Platinum Falls," as the cliffs surrounding it sparkle with frost and the water turns to snow.
Gullfoss waterfall drops 105 feet (32 meters) into a narrow river gorge and separates into two tiers. You can walk on a path along the Hvita river until you reach a viewing platform by the top of the waterfall, giving you a spectacular view. So the waterfall is beautiful in all seasons but i got a soft spot for winter .
After a rainy couple of days, the sun came out again right at the end of the Swanage Railway's Winter Warmer weekend. U Class 31806 approaches the foot crossing near Corfe Castle, bringing the 1500 from Swanage into Norden.

iPhone shot from a wander in the woods. It's snowing although it's difficult to see in this shot. I love woodland and forest walks. In this case the woodland was near Hexham in Northumberland.

So far this fall, we've been lucky - no snow. Having seen this Winter Wren today, I wonder if its a portend of weather to come?
Of interest, this is one of the smallest birds of the Canadian forests, but it has one of the loudest voices.
The front patio needs a good dusting off of fresh snow. I'm in no hurry as I do not plan to relax in the adirondack chairs or use the grill any time soon. We are expecting snow for another 10-12 hours here in Wisconsin....we maybe have 7-8 inches of fresh snow so far. Let is snow...let it snow...let is snow! :}
