Winter morning

When I woke this morning the windows were frozen shut

but I still glowed from a good dream.

And the stove poured out its warmth

from a log it had enjoyed all night long.

we haven't had a real winter for a long time. It's nice to see a landscape in the snow again

I loved seeing these powdery clouds recently, against the brilliant blue winter sky.

Possibly altocumulus, although I read that cirrocumulus (higher altitude, but rarer) comes usually in rows as seen here.

This is a photo taken at winter solstice day five years ago from Tyrskyvuori hill facing Espoo Bay. The weather was most of the day overcast and temperature was several degrees over freezing point. Today weather is very similar except that it also rains.

On February 5, 2021we had another soft snowfall that came down as a beautiful, white, fluffy snow. Since I had my Canon at home I felt fortunate to be able to photograph nature at its finest, up close and personal in the woods and hillside behind my home.

This has been a fine morning walk in the nature reserve Stromberg-Heuchelberg at the end of the winter season. The photograph shows lake Ehmetsklinge in mist, hit by the first sunrays of the day. A lots of birds and other wildlife can be seen there. #one-of-those-days
