With the cockpit window open, it is too tempting to grab a shot of that nice, big radial, pretending to "count the blades" during start-up. I never tire of such views form classic propliners.

Lovely natural reflected light from a brilliant sunrise behind me to the west, shadowed by the trees. I see the buds on the plum trees and hear eagles chirping above, slicing through my view to the water below. It is a fabulous day to be living in this place.

Seen below is the world‘s largest truck stop. Iowa 80, located along interstate 80 off exit 284 in Walcott, Iowa. The truck stop opened in 1964 as a modest truck stop next to the emerging 3,000 mile interstate connecting New York and San Francisco. Over the years the stop grew to what it is today receiving 5,000 visitors daily. Megaplex has parking for 900 trucks, 150 diesel fuel pumps, a two-story, 30,000 square foot store, a number of food services, a 350 seat restaurant, a dentist’s office and a chiropractic clinic. Quite an impressive view of low lying clouds and the broken ice on Chaleur Bay alongside Quebec's Gaspé penninsula. I was kinda glad we didn't have to make a water landing LOL... (Sorry about the dirty window specs... I couldn't exactly stick my hand out and clean the outside: Shot taken from KLM 's 767-300 "Pont Neuf")
