Passing south of the San Francisco Peaks volcanic mountain range. The peaks are the remains of an eroded stratovolcano that erupted around 200,000 years ago. The mountain’s fully matured elevation prior to the lateral eruption is estimated to have been around 16,000 feet. Humphreys Peak, one of the six peaks in the range, is the highest point in the state of Arizona at 12,633 feet. The mountain range located just north of Flagstaff is a popular recreational site for snow skiing and hiking. Quite an impressive view of low lying clouds and the broken ice on Chaleur Bay alongside Quebec's Gaspé penninsula. I was kinda glad we didn't have to make a water landing LOL... More than Ever..
I set this commissioned piece in an old sea shanty window. It is an actual view of the Intracoastal Waterway a little bit south of Wrightsville Beach, NC. The mug, peach and knife has personal meaning to the family, as do the banner plane, dory and sailboat. There is a tiny fox on the dredge island, but really that's only because they wouldn't let me put in the nude sunbathers...
The scratched plexiglass and hailstorm do not help with visibility here, but I could still imagine those massive props turning. Engines are four mighty Pratt & Whittney R-4360 engines (28 cylinders - 4 banks of 9). Photoshop is a great tool, but even that has its limitations.
