Mesa Arch is a famous structure in the Island in the Sky District of Canyonlands National Park. The arch is located right on the rim of the plateau, and the view from there is stunning.
So if you all remember a few weeks ago i told you the story of my beloved 11 month old HP laptop dying on me, i backed up my 22,000 photos and sent it off to HP to be fixed. Weeks past, and i finally got a call saying they couldnt fix it, but i could go to Best Buy and pick out a new laptop. I was really hoping to find the same exact model, becuase i really loved it. Unfortunatly they didnt make it anymore, so i started the search of a better laptop, this time suited for my photography needs. A Sony Vaio caught my eye, and i was told it had more than double the memory, and a faster processor plus a blu-ray player:) I've had it for a week now and i am in love!

"I'M MAD AS HELL AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE"
Ok, it's a line from a movie but it fits here, I got so frustrated with Windows 7 acting up last night that I killed my Dell laptop, that's right, threw it on the floor, kicked it up against the wall, stomped on it several times, then I threw it out the door onto a concrete walkway,.. and today I beat it with a 32 oz driving hammer just to make sure it was DEAD, good riddance !
Windows 7 is a pieces of Microsoft GARBAGE that's made to drive the user INSANE, it almost succeeded to do that to me last night but I fought through it and destroyed that EVIL BITCH !
I've gone back to using XP Pro which actually works even if it is un-supported, my browser does not crash four times in an hour and there is no more annoying pop up windows every two seconds as there was Windows 7.
As for the Dell, sorry Dell, it was just a cheap piece of junk and I'm not going to miss it one little bit !
Taken for a photo contest that they said I can't talk about. By mentioning that I can't talk about it, am I breaking the rules?

RIP Amy Winehouse
The voice of a generation - my generation. I am the same age as she was and find it so sad to hear of such a talented ladies death so young. I am still shocked to hear of this news in spite of her well documented troubles. Shame that her addiction had to outshine her wonderful talent and incredible voice.

The Triyptych
A triptych (/ˈtrɪptɪk/ TRIP-tik; from the Greek adjective τρίπτυχον ("three-fold"), from tri, i.e., "three" and ptysso, i.e., "to fold" or ptyx, i.e., "fold")[1][2] is a work of art (usually a panel painting) that is divided into three sections, or three carved panels that are hinged together and can be folded shut or displayed open.

Spent a few hours last night putting together a series of Rainmeter, CDArtDisplay, and Launchy skins to hash out a theme based on the Flip Clock config I previously did.
I will release the configs as soon as I get permission from all of the authors that I have liberally borrowed from. I will then upload the suite to my website (www.architectrio.com/projectvirus.html). As shown by the second screenshot all of these skins are standalone, so they should blend in nicely with any other config you're using.
Stuff you can download without me uploading them:
Wallpaper, cleverly named "Green Grass and Blue Sky"
Iconize Windows Taskbar with EnhanceMyXP
Remove Start Button with StartKiller
Special thanks to some Lifehacker group members who have motivated me to design and put up some new stuff - although they don't know it since I only secretly admired their work and didn't comment on their uploads:
Background: Norway 102 by ~lonelywolf2 from deviantart.com

recently I had a disaster on my laptop, I lost a partition Hard drive, trying to recover data, this happened to inspire some pictures like this...
OS: Windows 7 beta.
Wallpaper: visionsofart.deviantart.com/art/ASEN-84799275
Shelves added separately via a PSD file - monstrrr.deviantart.com/art/tv-room-psd-87573526
TV Icon - lapinbionic.deviantart.com/art/Bravia-32D3000-icon-Window...
The speaker icons open winamp and it is available here - fc63.deviantart.com/fs4/f/2005/137/d/d/logitech_speaker2.png
The photo frame is a slideshow program called DeskPhoto available here - www.cdartdisplay.com/forum/index.php?topic=245.0
The skin was made by myself.
The top shelf is RocketDock with these icons: mugenb16.deviantart.com/art/Massive-Media-Icons-Win-48654751
On the TV is CD Art Display with the iSome skin - www.cdartdisplay.com/forum/index.php?topic=627.0
And a program called MiniLyrics which works with most decent media players and is fully customisable - www.crintsoft.com/dl.htm
Bottom right of the taskbar is Rainmeter with the Simplicity config and Winamp tray controls.
Clock is standard windows gadget.
Enjoy :)
Edit: Thanks for the feature Lifehacker :) As for some of the comments on lifehacker, the shelves are put on what is essentially a blank canvas via the PSD file. Unfortunately it only comes with one type of shelf so it leads to perspective problems, but anybody is welcome to sort that out when putting up their own shelves if they can. As for odd lighting on the TV and shelf, again, those are separate icons and not part or designed for the original background. Admittedly it would be fairly easy to edit them to look more accurate in Photoshop and that is something you're welcome to do :)
