The spider that lives in the curtain by my bed. A Steatoda of some sort, probably S. nobilis, it's one of the more venomous spiders in Britain and is currently munching the overwintering Harlequin ladybirds (Harmonia axyridis) and green lacewings (Chrysoperla carnea agg) on my windowframe
Dramatic build up of light and clouds, always worth sticking the camera through the window and resting it on the windowframe, yes I did include the drainpipe and the corner of the window for effect. Birch Hall estate, Darwen.
Been known to wear window frames from time to time – but it looks like I may actually be needing a real pair soon ...
This unassuming image is more of a dedication to my sister-in-laws proclivity in her collection of unusual and interesting objects of art that my brother shares as well, in their household. This particular amusing relief picture depicting old man moon flanked by a couple of cherubs and underneath a cheese loving mouse, hangs adorned on the wall of their laundry room. The natural lighting streaming through the window provides an overall golden glow to the scene.

The disgusting faux wood grain finish window frames. They match the door frames, too. I can't wait to sand these down!
