This venue is PERFECT! It's downtown, within walking distance of such fine things as Powell's Books and The Compound (art gallery/re-ment/Japanese toy/shoe store place). You may also easily catch a bus to another part of town.

Those of you who are flying in can catch the MAX at the airport and ride all the way downtown.

We will be putting together a Tri-met how-to for those who are curious about our public transportation. :)

There are hotels near the airport, by our convention center, and downtown, all near the MAX. Easy peasy! If you stay downtown, you can even ride the streetcar to Venue Pearl, and guess what? FARELESS ZONE! We are looking into blocking out some rooms in hotels on the streetcar line.

Plus, this place has plenty of room, light, and they only book one event at a time, so we can dork out has hard as we want. Oh, and this venue supplies tables and chairs, so everyone will be comfortable. :)

Happy Window Wednesday!

This old block of shops in Warwick, Queensland are an example of some wonderful windows and bog standard louvres typical of premises in older sections of the Sunshine state. Upstairs may well have had offices or even living quarters.

I have a few final shots from Warwick which is a very photogenic city and a place we are unlikely to see as often now that my sister has left us. It's about time to upload the last few.

Spaziergang durch meinem Ort…

In Marocco there are very beautiful riads, colorful houses, great mosaics and woodcarvings as architectural decorations as well as artistic windows and doors.

Museum of Literature Ireland

A weathered, corroded window shows signs of age.

I wished to highlight the colours and textures of this window.

Photographed at the Lockkeeper's house along the C&O Canal Towpath.

Shot from my office without enough time to even open the window.

The Newbold Memorial window was installed in 1889, and dedicated to the memory of Henry Newbold JP. In the two lights on the left is depicted Moses delivering the Law, and on the right is Jesus delivering the New Law - scripture quotations held by angels make clear the connection between the two. In the middle is Jesus seated in judgement, with the Archangel Michael.

Had the opportunity to go for a few days and shoot at a photo workshop put together by my uncle Jon Fuller and renowned photographer Tom Till out at Arches National Park. The weather was kind of crummy but before I left I finally had some clear weather and was able to visit some of the famous arches here. It's been many years since I've been here and it really is quite a spectacular place to see in person. This is a view of Turret Arch from the north "window" at sunrise. 5 images blended to bring out the details and colors.
