Located near Nossa Senhora de Aires Sanctuary at Viana do Alentejo, this wonderful religious construction is in complete abandon and ruins.

Esta Igreja está erguida muito perto do Santuário Barroco de Nossa Senhora de Aires, este situado a cerca de 1000 metros de Viana do Alentejo, é muito conhecido pelas festividades que anualmente aqui decorrem em honra à Padroeira Nossa Senhora de Aires, no quarto fim de semana de Setembro.

A história do Santuário remonta ao século XVI, numa pequena ermida rodeada por cinco hospedarias de romeiros, que com o passar do tempo foi ficando mais afamada, atraindo mais fiéis, mercadores e forasteiros, tendo-se construído um novo, maior e mais digno templo, inaugurado em 1760, num estilo barroco - rocócó.

O grande ponto de interesse deste Santuário é a Casa dos Milagres, antiga sala das confrarias, que centenas de anos de promessas forraram com uma colecção imensa de ex-votos, atendendo à tradição de que a imagem da antiga padroeira, Nossa Senhora da Piedade, nunca deixou de socorrer os crentes.

A famosa Romaria de Nossa Senhora d'Aires é mais propriamente uma feira, com origem no alvará do Rei D. José I, em 1751, autorizando a realização de uma feira franca nesta local. Hoje em dia, na altura da Romaria tem igualmente lugar a concretização da Feira de Aires, com festividades diversas, que animam o local, atraindo inúmeros visitantes.

today afternoon I gonna take a little time for visit my magic tree .... I always love to sit under his proud crown in order for time to see around me and in me ..... but when I came closer and closer ...

I could not believe my eyes.... where's my tree?? what happened ? my tree has been killed, just like that ... has he changed his lonely life ?... but I feel it ..the roots of this tree deep in the earth are strong and have enough energy to re-grow sometimes a beautiful tree. I myself will no longer be able to experience, but someone will again sit under his proud crown.. I hope ..

Some time ago this tree was the Inspiration to found the group High Energy Places .....

I can think of 10 good reasons why not.

Montreux, Switzerland. This is the view from the promenade that follows lake Geneva's shoreline. During this time of the year, there is a fantastic Christmas market along here. (You can just see some of the tents if you look carefully.) There was some fog about, which is why it's a little hazy. The pinkish clouds seem to be a result of pointing the lens pretty much into the sun. Left them like that, as I liked the effect, but in reality I don't remember them being that pink.

A caribbean octopus (Octopus briareus) in a row pore rope sponge (Aplysina Cauliformis). This is my second post from this encounter - it was just too much fun to leave at one.

You only find caribbean octopuses during the night and even then, they don't like our lights. (Note, not "octopi" because unlike the Latin derived "fungus", octupus is from Greek.) This is the only time I have found one "up" off the reef. I don't know exactly why it was there but it stayed for quite some time despite me shining a light on it and hitting it with strobes. I wish I were able to figure out why it was so motivated to be in the rope sponge, but I so enjoyed the encounter nonetheless.

For a sense of scale, my guess is that if the octopus fully tucked itself into a ball, it wouldn't be much larger than your fist. But those arms could outstretch to wrap around a soccer ball, maybe even a basketball.

Here we see it in its prettiest iridescent blue. In an instance, generally when hunting, it can turn white with brown spots. I don't do video, but I have to admit that a video would do a much better job than a still image to capture how amazing these creatures are.

di certo hanno un'anima , seppur per nulla si sa realmente di che cosa si trattata , però di certo potremmo affermare che consapevolmente oppure no , ad ogni manufatto ,strada o sentiero ,casa ,recinto o albero che viene potato imprimiamo qualcosa( totalmente o in parte) cambiandone il futuro e lasciando così una nostra impronta ;dunque trasferendo una parte di noi o della nostra anima . lo vediamo nei dipinti, scritti o statue di grandi pittori o scultori ,architetti o poeti le cui opere sono arrivate sino ai giorni nostri , ma se ben guardiamo ogni oggetto , per forma ,colore , funzione , se non prodotto dalla natura incontaminata , è il frutto del pensiero , conscio /inconscio ......dunque il rosso caramella della casa potrebbe essere legato all'infanzia di quell'uomo a cui appartenne un giocattolo che gli fu rotto da un'altro bimbo ...o mille altre storie , una ripicca, un capriccio della nostalgica moglie sudamericana , o chissà il colore di un rossetto perso in aeroporto ....

quante storie contiene un'oggetto ...

o quante anime vi abitano contemporaneamente ?

cosa è vivo e cosa non lo è ?

tutto ha un'anima nella religione shintoista difatti è una fede o credo animista ;cosa che a noi occidentali pare tanto assurda , seppur vero che l'animismo è nato prima ,molto prima di qualsiasi altra fede , per poi raffinarsi sempre più in concetti che mano a mano ci hanno portato ,via,via, sempre più lontano da tutto ciò che ci circonda.

per questo motivo alle volte ci sentiamo stranieri o alieni sulla nostra stessa terra , incapaci di vedere ,capire o sentire tutto ciò che va oltre le semplici apparenze.
