Tracy Chapman - Why

Why do the babies starve

When there's enough food to feed the world

Why when there are so many of us

Are there people still alone

Why are the missiles called peace keepers

When they're aimed to kill

Why is a woman still not safe

When she's in her home

Sometimes cats make you wonder.... Why is it so much better to balance on rocks and step over garden decorations instead of simply walking on the path ? :)

Did not have the opportunity to capture Mr Rainbow this season. Managed to improve the PPing of these shots to get decent IQ. The shooting condition was very dim and shaded. Shot handheld with 1/8 sec. That's why I am hanging on to my Oly system for dear life - the great image stabilisation and Pro Capture feature.

Thank you my friends for popping by.

I really appreciate your visits, comments & favourites.

Wishing all my Flickr friends a Beautiful Day

Take care and stay safe everyone

Thank you

This is a nice salmon colored boathouse with a comfortable looking bench. Why is the color salmon everywhere I look this year? Maybe I need to have my eyes checked. Maybe it is just tan with a little pink in it ... but that’s salmon, right?

Anyway, it was a nice day to be out in the boat. It was choppy but the temperature was so pleasant.

As with most things in China, their highways are impressive. Beautifully built and with manicured gardens down the middle. Not so impressive is the traffic sense; what was this three wheeled vehicle doing in the centre lane on a three lane highway?

What was our bus driver thinking? Why fall in behind a slow moving three wheeled vehicle when he could have pulled out and passed it long before we caught up with and followed this red terror. China is a country of inexplicable contradictions encountered every day we were there.

A sign of the times in a nearby garden.

I listened to this great song by Johnny Dowd the other night as i drove home after a great evening's beach fun with a camera. I was wondering how i could use it as a title, then this morning i chose to upload this beach abstract type shot, and it was obvious. Why is perfect, why am I attracted to shots like this, why did i compose it this way, and why do things like this fascinate me so much. Who knows, I suppose we all have an inner drive and like certain things and certain compositions.

Why you do this to me?

I have a collection of playing cards. This is one extra card that came with my collection of Halloween cards from Rucus Studio.

I haven't got a clue why I gave this title, but I've got a head full of songs and lyrics, and liked this one. On wet days in Scotland, I love looking for Lichen covered trees or rocks. They're as addictive as sunsets!!

She made embryo

A clematis flower finding its way through a ceanothus shrub. I could not have invented this colour arrangement. It just "happened". And this makes me think that I have scissors in my head. What I mean is the photographer's temptation of controlling the colour arrangement. But colours can also simply "happen" - without my ego policing their boundaries. And why not?

Teach Your Children

You, who are on the road

Must have a code that you can live by

And so become yourself

Because the past is just a goodbye

Teach your children well

Their father's hell did slowly go by

And feed them on your dreams

The one they pick's the one you'll know by

Don't you ever ask them why

If they told you, you would cry

So just look at them and sigh

And know they love you

And you, of tender years

You can't know the fears that your elders grew by

And so, please, help them with your youth

'Cause they seek the truth before they can die

Teach your children well

Their father's hell will slowly go by

And feed them on your dreams

The one they pick's the one you'll know by

Don't you ever ask them why

If they told you, you would cry

So just look at them and sigh

And know they love you

Sorry, but I will try to catch up next, as soon as possible. PROBLEMS WITH MY COMPUTER! Sorry for the delay!

My first attempt on Caffenol processing. Had some problems with a leaking tank and too cold developer.

There is always someone watching in the darkness. “It's not who you are underneath, but what you do that defines you.”

Dragon is unamused with the selfie...

....won't you let me in?

Rather strange: last March Mr Maine Coon was sitting by a pot of hyacinths on the patio looking into the living room, willing me to let him into the house. And yesterday there he was again this March, trying again.

He obviously has a home, is well-fed, has identity info on him and has been following a route through our garden from somewhere to somewhere for quite some time.......

This is one of the ones I went to Montana for. I would've been happy with a train here in almost any weather. When we left paradise the weather was cloudy and overcast. As we rolled east, it turned into beautiful storm lighting as MRL's day gas rolls along the unbelievably beautiful 10th subdivision.
