I decided to pull out the white seamless paper and take some portraits I owed my wife. As I am a photographer, we don’t purchase the annual school portraits my son brings home every year, instead I shoot portraits of him. Well she reminded me I have neglected to do that so far and I figured I’d better get to it…
“My Honest Sqribble Review. Read NOW!”
If you’ve been marketing online for more than 5 minutes, you’ll know that lead magnets, eBooks and reports are powerful ways to build your list or sell directly for profit. But you’ll also know they’re a serious headache to create too. All that writing, designing and formatting… URGHH. Enough already!
That’s why a new product recently caught my attention — it’s called Sqribble and it’s an online tool that instantly creates professional eBooks, reports, whitepapers and other types of digital books with a few clicks or taps.
This concept isn’t new. There have been a lot of different eBook creator tools in the past. But if you’ve used most of them, you’ll know they all share the same frustrating flaws:
— They have crappy templates.
— They are buggy and unreliable.
— They often require additional tools
What is Sqribble?
Sqribble is different. It’s packed with professional templates, seriously good looking covers, and surprisingly, is totally bug free. In fact, the whole process of creating an eBook with Sqribble is satisfyingly easy and smooth.
Heck, it’s FUN.
But perhaps most remarkable of all… Sqribble comes loaded with some of the most powerful features I’ve seen in an eBook creator tool.
Here’s just some of the things this bad boy can do:
— Automatic table of contents
— Automatic headers and footers
— Automatic pagination
— Drag and drop design
— Add or delete pages
— Add your own media
— 300+ Google Fonts
— 50 eBook templates (in 15 different niche categories)
— 10 different eBook themes
— Automatically create content (woah.)
— Turn your book into a flipbook (double woah.)
Seriously, if that’s not enough to make you want to check this thing out, I don’t know what else to say. Apart from this — Sqribble isn’t perfect. Yes, it’s powerful. Yes, it’s going to save you tons of time and money creating eBooks. But it does have a few flaws.

This is the glass from an old washboard we inherited with the house. The wood was old and rotten but the glass held promise. I've played with it a few times, mostly firing a flash through it, trying to see what patterns I can make on the wall. I had no luck with that.
I think maybe I've finally found it's use here.
Okay, this is officially the absolute most boring picture I've ever posted. It's actually two of the most boring pictures I've ever posted, because it's a before shot and an after shot... of a blank white piece of paper. The paper isn't actually the important part here. The important part is the little bits of dust you can see because I shot at my minimum aperture.
I just got a Firefly dust blower system. It's a cheap little rubber blower bulb plus a $200 widget that ionizes the air passing through it to make it unstatic any bits of dust sticking to the sensor. Worked reasonably well, I think. Not sure if it worked $200 worth of well. Further testing is required.

On Wednesday 23rd November Students at Cambridge University disrupted at talk by David Willetts, the Minister for Universities and Science, entitled "The Idea of a University". They used the "people's microphone" to broadcast their view of the higher education white paper and the future of universities, preventing Willetts from giving his speech.
Happy New Year!
We wanted to send out a note to all our blog readers, service partners,
clients, friends, and family to say a BIG thanks for all of the candid
comments, inspirational words, heroic collaboration, and personal
sacrifices. 2006 was truly an amazing year. For those of you that haven't
been given a 'formal' update, here's a quick snapshot about what we've been
up to, who we've been working with, and where we're headed in '07.
On the venture front, we've been fortunate to work with a great collection
of smart, cool, and ambitious entrepreneurs. A few that we've helped build,
brand, and grow their ideas into real companies:
R TalentBoom! - a supped-up search portal for actors, agents, and
producers. (www.talentboom.com)
R The Cradle - a big-brained social search and networking community for
expectant mothers. (www.thecradle.com)
R Super Hi-Fi - a new school user-generated internet radio service
(www.superhifi.com)
R Fat Vine - a smarter search portal that let's users "grow their know" -
think Linked In meets Del.icio.us. (www.fatvine.com
)
R Unstoppable Sports - a not for profit sports camp and apparel line
focused on education and athletics for at risk youth.
In addition to our venture work, we've also been getting our hands dirty
with some exciting new spin outs and product launches. We've just been
hired to build out the launch strategy for a category changing new consumer
electronic device by the #2 player in the MP3 player space. And in the fall
of 2006 we were tapped to assist Comic Book Creator
(www.mycomicbookcreator.com) with their marketing and promotional efforts
for their software.
For you knowledge seekers, hot of the presses is our acclaimed whitepaper
titled
"How to Crash The Consumer-Controlled Party and Not Get Thrown Out".
Good timing for us, as Time Magazine just awarded Person of the Year to
"You" (because of all of the buzz surrounding user-generated content in
'06). And it's probably a big reason why the paper's been attracting a ton
of eyeballs and has been featured on the prominent branding site
BrandChannel.com . Be sure to
give it read.
Big things on the horizon include some great new ventures, more exciting
client projects, the 'initiation' of a few new super heroes.
So here's to a great New Year, and having even more fun in 2007 launching
great new products and companies!
Cheers!
