The Brisbane River from the old Wharf from about 1/2 way out - Not a breath of breeze, a few whisps of cloud and a glassy river.
Not much happening, no one in sight but peaceful serenity broken only by the occasional slap, slap of a runner's joggers!
I don’t know where it came from, maybe the old library visited a few days prior, but the clouds out here give me a sense of the Arabic writing.
Clouds seem to stick in my mind with travel, places with interesting shapes and the historic wonder that seems to spark when I’ve the time to enjoy it.
ISO100 f4 1/750 28mm LR
The clouds hide the welsh coast, but the hills of the Clywd Mountains and Offa's Dyke protrude through the white whisps. This is a great spot for waders and other birds, in profusion.
Photographing smoke art is one of the most rewarding aspects of home photography. We've all seen the wispy strands that float and glide through the air, but it's not until these trails are frozen in time do we see the true beauty and elegance of their construction.
In many images it's possible to see a subject within the smoke.
The advantage of smoke art photography is that - compared to water droplets - the patterns take longer to form so it's easier to judge when to take the shot. It's when the scene is viewed on the screen that the true diversity and uniqueness of the patterns is realised.
This was processed in Photoshop to highlight the patterns that exist within the formations.
Cubes and strange clouds, or whisps of smoke curling around an unknown doorway.
Handwoven raw silk in playful form. Tapestry woven designs of reds and oranges adorn this texturally woven chartreuse scarf. Amid the cubes and stripes are loosley woven sections giving the piece a beautiful drape adn supple feel.
For everyday wear, a night out, unconventional wedding wear, It will keep you warm throughout the winter, or break the chill on a summer night in the mountains.
It is 9.5 x 78 inches + approx. 3 inches of hand-knotted fringe on each end.
Made with Love!
Thanks for checking out my work!

So, it turns out that will-o-whisps float randomly around the Lynx enclosure. The lynxes like to hunt them.
Strobist: SB-800 on floor. Turns out that cats really don't like strange things and try to hunt them. If I were to do this again (which I likely will), I would put a snoot on it, to make the flash reflection less noticable.
Sometimes these whisps of cloud just seem to entwine themselves in and around the Flatirons. Usually after a rain.
I decided to re-upload this photo because I wasn't happy with the version I had uploaded before. This image is a lot more true to what it looked like in person:)

To begin, I almost toppled a dry stone wall this morning whilst in my first attempt at this photo! (Who knew they weren't actually held together by anything secure??) Secondly, I've made a new friend at this location as it is the second time I've been up here to shoot and this friend is a horse, who has blue eyes and a white coat with black spots and who is completely lovely. She whinnied and ran from the top of the field to greet me. I had no carrots but gave her a good pat and snuggle with the promise to bring carrots tomorrow...
And third,
Things that I really like:
(a partial list I compiled while running today)...
- staring into the sun (and the spots behind your eyelids)
- streaky skies full of depth and color
- watching birds feed and fly
- finding that space when you're running where you feel really, really good
- horses
- snuggling with my little bug
- taking photographs and creating imagery
- finding inspiration in the littlest things around me
- frozen lakes
- Saturdays
- triangle pose
- reading interesting stories
- music
- the rising and setting sun
- harvest moons
- summer
- my family & friends
- and last but not least, my husband, when he listens to me and feigns interest in my little world...
(this list is not inclusive).
;)
