Easter break is here, and I can finally let out my pent- up Lego energy. I present to you, the prototype of a model I plan on building several of. This is a lightweight fighter based off a mix between the Northrop Grumman F 20 and the Saab Gripen, that ended up looking a lot like the JF-17.
This particular model is the standard air force variant. I plan on designing a naval variant, a next- gen variant, and a technology demonstrator of some kind, akin to the F-18 HARV, or F-16 VISTA. First though, I need to make the model more efficient with pieces (it uses way too many of some parts).
Since it is a WIP, I would appreciate some constructive feedback
On Sunday, I took my youngest up to the pass to ski. It was just the two of us, since my oldest is skipping skiing this winter, he's wrestling this season.
While my son skied, I did my usual snowshoe steeply up into the woods, away from the hullabaloo of the lift areas. The morning started out snowy, then the sun came out in the afternoon. Up higher, I climbed out of the woods and arrived at my turnaround, a quiet ski patrol cabin with fragrant woodsmoke spilling out of the pipestove vent atop the roof.
This was one of the last pictures I took. I take a picture of this tree nearly every year!
On the way down, I hurried because I was a running a little late for the rendezvous my son and I'd arranged. Well, haste makes waste when you have big goofy things attached to your feet. I fell flat on my face on the hard icy snow! When a tree falls in the woods and no one's around to hear it, I'm not sure if it makes a sound but when I fall down, I make a lot of noise.

I've needed some of the typical (cliché) weight loss photos for a project at work. We have bought many stock images in the past, but I wanted to get in the studio and make some that were my own. I hadn't done much of this kind of shoot, so I figured it would be good practice on the lighting, posing and post-processing. Though I have no intention of making a business in stock photos, I've wanted to shoot some of my own project needs.
Most of the shoot was done over white because for my projects I typically need to cut it out from the background and place it in another composite design. My model Terrie was great to work with and offered a variety of looks. I'll post a few samples from the shoot (we shot 375, I whittled it down to 66 keepers). I was happy with the results and look forward to doing a few more to fine tune some of what we did.
