I was really getting into taking crowd photos last weekend in Glasow, maybe because it was a whole festival devoted to bands I loved too so I was pretty in sync with the surrounding mood (at other festivals, it might end up being more hit or miss depending on who is playing). I don't often use the expression "positive vibes only" but I was kind of feeling that way even despite the rain that came through both days (photographing bands in the rain even with a rain sleeve on my base and lens always makes me so nervous!)

On a very foggy morning, K153 & K190 cross the Pyrenees Hwy in Castlemaine with SRV's Maldon Weekender tour. 17/8/19
HDR from 3 Exposures.
It's been a while since I last used Photomatix and I must say, they really did some good stuff in their latest version. Keep it up HDRsoft!
It's been many weeks in the making, but I finally finished my Weekender Bag!
More pictures and blog post with my thoughts here:
A friday afternoon capture in Birmingham. I cropped out the person on the left in earlier pictures but left him in for this one. I also prefer in colour than black and white

My second weekender. I just love the Elizabeth Hartman inspired version. I even cut into my Mendocino (thank you Mel!!). This one really is my ode to HR!

Weekender bag. I just got woven straps for it instead of making them, I think they will stay flatter longer.
This has probably been the most rewarding thing I have ever made. I felt like I conquered the Mt. Everest of the sewing world :) And I am so happy I cut up some of those precious pieces of fabric I have been hoarding because that makes it all the more special!
I think I read ever since blog post about making the Weekender before I started and then compiled all the info and used it to make this. Used the Oh Fransson tutorial to do all the panels (www.ohfransson.com/oh_fransson/2012/10/how-to-make-quilte...). Made the handles 5x57" so that they would be long enough to comfortable carry over my shoulder. I definitely would make another...for the right person :)
Just sewing the diamond shapes together into a tumbling blocks layout, took an entire day. My next step will be to layer and quilt this panel, then trim to the pocket shape. The pocket on the other side of the bag will have a different design pattern.
LOVE Weekender Lukas, but his hitops were impossible for me to get on. I finally gave up and just decided leave him barefoot for the photo shoot. What's the point of cool shoes if they are dang near impossible to put on? I couldn't get the laces loosened enough and didn't want to risk breaking the peg in his foot by forcing the issue.
