Thing I want to incorporate: I want to have the subject and then the shadows there too.

Frankly, this was the most rewarding match because I killed Weegee at the end for the win and didn't even realize it. GG

Bit of a project for my AS photography exam title which is Evidence Of Human Presence. I was kinda working along a Weegee/Banksy theme for these. Had a lot of fun doing this :D

The conceptual or narrative division doesn't have to be static, the difficulty of mastering it relies on the fact that the photographer has no control over the action and needs to take fast decisions. Some work can be done later at the digital darkroom, but for a good result the image must be good from the start. On this shot I used a vertical composition, but it's not obvious as you can also find a spontaneous horizontal division of "action zones".

Ukraine UA (Instagram) As a tribute to the people of Ukraine, the MoMA @themuseumofmodernart installed a gallery with the works of artists born in Ukraine. It includes paintings, drawings, sculptures, photographs, and prints by Kazimir Malevich, Louise Nevelson, Sonia Delaunay-Terk, Weegee, Janet Sobel, and other artists in the Museum’s collection. The gallery also includes an excerpt from a poem by Ukraine’s famous novelist and poet @serhiy_zhadan, which appears in English and Ukrainian: ”Let’s start with what’s most difficult—with singing and quenching the fires emerging from the night. Let’s start by whispering the names, let’s weave together the vocabulary of death.” “Почнімо з найтяжчого — зі співу й гасіння вогню, який підступає з... This image was inspired by Dali's collaboration with Weegee (Arthur Fellig) (www.design-is-fine.org/post/109051786424/weegee-arthur-fe...). I used a timer delay to capture a "part of a person" photo of myself, and used a photo editing program to invert the image and then combine it with the original. Although Dali used a mirror in his image, I wanted to create a more continuous look between the two images so I also created a blur along the seam to make it look like one. I converted the photo to black and white and adjusted the highlights and shadows to create the effect I wanted. This photo is an example of balance, and has a number of curves that make it more visually appealing.

I edited this version using Photoshop to make the hair look more realistic and continuous. I used the patch tool, Liquefy, burn, dodge, sharpen, and the paint tool to create this effect. I also whitened the whites of the eyes, and burned/dodged the eyes to make them stand out more. I chose this photo for my portfolio because I felt it was an interesting photo that I spent a lot of time working on.
