Better scanning uncoming, I hope...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

These two young girls were making their way across the various rocks to get to their destination here. Along the way, they got pretty wet but especially the one girl was cheerleading all along, saying how they could do it and do anything if they helped each other and worked together. How fabulously wonderful to hear!

It's the Little Things 2.0 #24

Women's March, Washington D.C., January 2017

A lot of girls worry about how society might look down on them if they cut their hair. Females shouldn't be afraid to drastically change their physical appearance in order to conform to society's standards. We are strong. We are beautiful. We can do it.

Block 36 of 36 in the We Can Do It! Skill Builder Sampler -- woohoo! I was so excited about finishing that I didn't wait until daytime to get a decent photo. I used EPP instead of machine piecing, and I think I cut my templates a little bit wrong because my butterfly is oversized. I considered the options and decided to just let the wingtips be cut off at the edges. Imperfect, but I'm totally okay with that. This has been my learning-to-quilt quilt, and it pretty much every block has been a learning experience. Now to start putting the quilt top together!

I've always liked this poster. It was leaning against the wall where several "Rosies" were gathered to talk about their experiences working during the war. I love listening to that generation telling their stories. They were a lot of fun to listen to.

For this Art Theory project, I juxtaposed modern female images with the famous "We Can Do It!" poster from WW2 that became an icon of female empowerment.

I sold a pair to a woman in Nevada and a set to a friend who wanted some hot chicks on his apartment wall.

Draw your own conclusions.
