I wasn't the only one at this WW-2 Day presentation with "guns!" This honors student poses as a "Rosie."

Stock photograph of the famous World War II poster "We Can Do It!" showing Rosie the Riveter wearing a red bandana and flexing her muscles against a yellow background, created by J. Howard Miller. The woman that modeled for this image was actually named Geraldine Doyle and was a real riveter in the 1940s.

Originale

Original

He was 17 years old when, in 1942, Geraldine worked in a factory of metals in the vicinity of Detroit. One day a photographer of United Press arrived at the factory to take pictures of women for a service of propaganda in support of their country in war. Thus was born "Rosie the Riveter," the female equivalent of Uncle Sam. The poster became an icon of feminism, but Ms. Doyle was not aware of the existence of the poster until 1982, when it was recognized randomly.

Dang! I was forced to use the flash (hate it) and on manual, I stepped forward to mess up focus! It was a ~challenging~ pose to do by myself so there's NO redos on this one.

I've been wanting to try this since it was blogged over the summer. Why...See the picture below? This my grandmother working at the North American Aviation, Inc. in Dallas during WWII.

And why was this day a good day to pose...I landed a a job on the 5th day of searching. And since it's a banking position...that means business clothes and make-up every day (damn!) and NO more of
