This is what happens when you let the marketing team have a "great idea" and want it now.

This is what myspace.com looks like in Safari 3.0.3. Not that I really wanted to, but try logging in.

Home page design for Total Language Plus website (redesign). WordPress.

So I had previously added a mock-up of a website that we couldn't end up going with. The new direction is a word press theme that I have the duty of choosing colors and such.

So here is the explanation...The red text is not staying but I didn't feel like replacing it all. I did a screen capture and cut out the individual content boxes because I didn't want to spend the time recreating each one. The banner including the logo and picture content are not final but i just wanted to throw something in there.

These were the requests for the overall design:

Design: Clean and bright

Focus: Family, ministries and current message

Additional Functions: Welcome to newcomers, calendar, drop down list to reach all areas on site

What do you all think?

here's the site in it's current state (not live to our church yet):

Recently I came across an innovated form of art called Zentangle.

Among other things Zentangle is a meditative practice recommended for relaxation and for stress relief . Rather like a doodle the emphasis is on relaxing and allowing the patterns to form with out too much contrivance. Usually rendered in black ink after a while I tended to prefer the addition of coloured pencils. Here is one of my attempts at Zantangles or art work inspired by Zentangles.

The Face of Gregos

Taken from his website:

www.gregosart.com/siteeng/myartworks/myfaceonthewallsofpa...

Gregos, 38 years old, grew up in the northern suburbs of Paris (Gonesse, Villiers le Bel).

Self-taught, his first steps in street art were in Graffiti painting during the late 80s, early 90s.

In 1997, after 2 years in Athens, Greece, he starts experimenting with sculpting and molding techniques.

In 2003, he leaves for Boston, Massachusetts, USA where he initiates himself to acrylic and oil paintings.

Back in Paris in 2006, he goes back to his first love: street art. In the Montmartre district where he now leaves, he decides to participate and mingle in the ever present street art in this area of Paris.

He invents his own 3D concept using all the techniques he has develop and taught himself over the years, and creates a replicate of his face, tongue out or smiling, that he paints and glues on the walls of Paris.

Each face is a sort of self-portrait of the day to express his humors, his past, present, and future, everything that make Gregos…

As of today, almost a 190 faces have been installed in Paris mostly, but also in Lyon, Lille, and the Island of Malta.

The world invasion is on its way !

From the Paxtang Cemetery website:

Paxtang Cemetery first established in 1898, in what was then known as Swatara Township and adjoined the historic Paxton Church grounds. The sight was and still is ideal being elevated ground, rising high and rolling from its front. The soil is dry and particularly well suited for burial purposes. Nature has done much to make this one of her most charming spots. The landscape is beautiful and restful, & the outlook inspiring and magnificent. From any part of the cemetery a beautiful panorama view of the valley, mountains and woods unfolds itself to view. There are 34 acres, 12 of which are undeveloped. There have been over 10,000 internments in the cemetery over the last 100+ years and room for another 10,000 in ground burials.

The Paxtang Mausoleum is one of the cemeteries greatest treasures. The first phase was built in 1916 and the second in 1921. The entire mausoleum is made of granite and white marble. Inside you will find intricate stained glass windows in the walls and ceiling. Brass gates enhance the beauty of family crypts. There is currently five remaining crypts in this mausoleum. We hope to be adding more crypts and cremation niches inside this mausoleum in the near future. The mausoleum is also used today for chapel services during inclement weather.

William C. Grunden was the first caretaker. His grandson, Murvin Grunden III, still lives in Paxtang and is active in borough events.

The "receiving tomb" was used to hold bodies for up to 30 days so that families had time to return home for the funeral.

It was also used to hold bodies when the ground was heavy with snow and not easy to dig. When Harrisburg people died, the old Allison Hill Trolley brought caskets to the cemetery gates on Kelso Street. The caskets then were transferred to a horse-drawn caisson or hearse and taken to the grave.

With development of mobile phone, the things that have a universal demand are its apps. We have an app for everyone. Whoever you are; it does not matter.

... pasted on an unused billboard off Haight street.

Photo by Jim Marshall, on the Rolling Stone website.:

www.rollingstone.com/music/music-lists/love-and-haight-ji...

They date it as 1967, even though the grafitti gives a 1968 date, but probably added later. We can see that the poster was there before the grafitti, because it is overwritten by it with a couple of strokes.

OMYGOSH.!

I just noticed that my stencil is sprayed here, too.

The writing in an arc, to the right of the poster says,

“ BULLETS SHOT IN AIR COME DOWN SOMEWHERE “.

I made that stencil because the Police were shooting up toward the rooftops on one occasion.

I was never happy with the phrasing, because it should say, bullets shot in the air come down somewhere, but “the” had to be taken out to make it work.

( i remember that some famous songwriter was never happy with the necessity to use the word, “devine”, in one of his song lyrics. haha. )

The rest of the text on the Rolling Stone web page is,

“ In This Article: Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, Jim Marshall, Jimi Hendrix, the Grateful Dead. “

Jimi Hendrix lived int the City around 1967 and played in the Panhandle.

Chanter, Mark, missed him by ten minutes when he was a teenager.

I never heard about it at all. I started in the Haight and joined the Diggers in 1967, but it must have been after that.
