A bit of fun with last night’s lunar eclipse. I had in in mind to do a sequence of the different stages of the eclipse but armed with only a 105mm lens I was going to struggle. My solution was a composite of 5 heavily cropped images of the moon combined with a shot looking across Start Bay towards Start Point lighthouse. The moons are maybe a little on the large side but after staying up till 3.30am I wasn’t going to leave them as little pinpricks! Hope you enjoyed the spectacle yourself!

For the employee profiles on their website I chose to do this kind of setting .. There are 5 people working here, we changed the people in the front and back for every shot (5) ..

Zebras are several species of African equids (horse family) united by their distinctive black-and-white striped coats. Their stripes come in different patterns, unique to each individual. They are generally social animals that live in small harems to large herds. Unlike their closest relatives, horses and donkeys, zebras have never been truly domesticated. There are three species of zebras: the plains zebra, the mountain zebra and the Grévy's zebra. The plains zebra and the mountain zebra belong to the subgenus Hippotigris, while Grévy's zebra is the sole species of subgenus Dolichohippus. The latter resembles an ass, to which zebras are closely related, while the former two look more horse-like. All three belong to the genus Equus, along with other living equids. The unique stripes of zebras make them one of the animals most familiar to people. They occur in a variety of habitats, such as grasslands, savannas, woodlands, thorny scrublands, mountains, and coastal hills. Various anthropogenic factors have had a severe impact on zebra populations, in particular hunting for skins and habitat destruction. Grévy's zebra and the mountain zebra are endangered. While plains zebras are much more plentiful, one subspecies, the quagga, became extinct in the late 19th century – though there is currently a plan, called the Quagga Project, that aims to breed zebras that are phenotypically similar to the quagga in a process called breeding back. I was recommended I pay this arch a visit by a friend a few weeks ago, and sure enough it was well recommended! This odd structure can be found on a hill near Creech, in Dorset, and is maintained by the National Trust. It was built in 1746 by Denis Bond, on the highest point of the ridgeway, providing a view down to Creech through an avenue of trees that have been cut aside. I knew from the description that my friend provided me that it would look good as part of a night image, possibly with a star trail, as it is roughly north/south orientated. So I took myself up there one clear evening, set up and waited for it to get dark enough, which at this time of year wasn’t until about 23.30. I fired a flash burst in each of the openings, from behind, so as to provide some side lighting, and then positioned myself in the larger arch as a silhouette; but this hasn’t been too successful!
