Taxonomy of T. cæspitum s.l. is currently under investigation. It is common throughout Europe; the presence of a complex of morphologically nearly indistinguishable spp is hypothesized, especially on the basis of biomolecular data.
T. cæspitum tends to be coastal in North Europe but also inland on heath and on the open borders of woodland. Colonies are normally monogynous but populous with 1E4 or more ☿☿. This species is moderately aggressive, living by predation on other Arthropoda, scavenging and also from root aphid honeydew. Seeds of various herbs and grasses are often collected into the nest. Alatae are conspicuously large compared with ☿☿; they are developed in the early summer and fly in late VI & VII.
T. cæspitum is a common indoor pest in eastern North America, especially near the coast. Nests are frequently located under building foundations and ☿☿ forage for food inside. Once a food source is located, mass recruitment occurs along a well defined odor trail. Commonly known as "pavement ants", this species is often seen in late spring & early summer out on sidewalks in huge battles with neighboring colonies. Baits can be very effective in eliminating colonies within structures. In nature, colonies are often found nesting in soil under stones; Reticulitermes flavipes is a common prey.

A path of yellow flowers (floral walk) has been sprayed painted on the pavement between the two cathedrals in Norwich to promote the flower festival and provide the visitors with an easy to follow route. I wonder if they used permanent paint?

I spent my Saturday morning covered in puppies...got my fill of puppy belly, puppy breath, puppy smell.....It was heaven :D

Here's the new Brewtus with two simple accessories added: cabinet door handles as cup rails and a timer, both courtesy of Ikea.
The timer works particularily well as a shot timer, as it has a strong magnet that keeps it parked securely enough right on top of the E-61 grouphead. A nice feature is that it works as both a countup or a countdown timer, the latter providing an alarm when it reaches 0. It also recalls the last countdown time used at the moment you silence the alarm, ready to go again for timing the next shot.
Though I have it set to 25 seconds, I stop my pulls at around 10-17 seconds (after first drop) for my usual ristrettos, for a total draw of roughly 0.4-0.8 ounces.

Sky verliert Exklusivrecht ... auf die Bundesligaspiele ... Das Bundeskartellamt setzt durch, dass es im Fußball künftig mehrere Anbieter geben muss.
Die Deutsche Fußball Liga (DFL) darf ihre milliardenschweren Rechte an Live-Spielen nicht mehr allein an einen einzelnen Bieter vergeben. Das teilte das Bundeskartellamt mit. Die sogenannte "No-Single-Buyer-Rule" gilt für die kommende Rechteperiode 2017/18 bis 2020/2021.
Aktuell ist Pay-TV-Anbieter Sky Rechteinhaber, die DFL erwartet mit der neuen Ausschreibung eine deutliche Steigerung der Einnahmen. "Das Bundeskartellamt sieht es angesichts der von Ligaverband und DFL vorgeschlagenen Paketstruktur als ausreichend an, wenn künftig - je nachdem, ob alle Verbreitungswege oder nur die Internet- und Mobilfunkverbreitung umfasst sind - zwischen 30 und 102 attraktive Bundesligaspiele (von insgesamt 306 Spielen) zusammen mit umfassenden Möglichkeiten zur Highlight-Berichterstattung von einem alternativen Bieter erworben werden", teilte das Bundeskartellamt mit.
Neues Modell soll keine Nachteile für Abonnenten bringen
"Wir haben Wert gelegt auf Regelungen, die sicherstellen, dass im Ergebnis mehr als ein einziger Bieter die Live-Rechte erwirbt.
Solange nur ein Inhaber der Live-Rechte am Markt ist, birgt dies die Gefahr, dass der Innovationswettbewerb beschränkt wird", sagte Andreas Mundt, Präsident des Bundeskartellamtes:
"Wie die Erfahrungen aus anderen Ländern zeigen, führt ein solches Modell meist nicht dazu, dass der Verbraucher am Ende mehr als ein Abonnement benötigt, um alle Spiele sehen zu können.
So können sich die Rechteinhaber gegenseitig auch Unterlizenzen einräumen. Daneben dürfte es aber auch Angebote geben, die nur einen Teil der Live-Spiele umfassen."
Ab der Saison 2017/2018 finden in der Fußball-Bundesliga pro Spielzeit fünf Partien am Montagabend statt.
Das zweite Sonntagsspiel soll um 18 Uhr anstatt wie bisher um 17.30 Uhr beginnen, bestätigt die Deutsche Fußball Liga.
Die DFL bietet die TV-Rechte für die Spiele der ersten und zweiten Liga in acht Paketen an.
In der Fußball-Bundesliga wird ab der Saison 2017/18 fünfmal am Montagabend gespielt.
Das bestätigte Christian Seifert, Geschäftsführer der Deutschen Fußball Liga (DFL), bei der Vorstellung der Ausschreibung der Medienrechte.
"Wir reden über fünf von 306 Spielen. Es ist ausdrücklich nicht geplant, künftig noch mehr Montagsspiele durchzuführen", sagte Seifert:
"Das macht auch sportlich keinen Sinn." Grundsätzlich werde es in der kommenden Rechteperiode (bis 2020/21) "kaum Veränderungen" beim Spielplan geben, sagte Seifert.
