I spent some time shooting spider webs and came up with this series, many of which are significantly modified post-production.
Seen in the bushes when out walking. He is the biggest one I have ever seen. All up about 8 cm long.

A spider of some name spins a web along a wooded trail in Raleigh. He was backlit by the morning sun, and I popped him with a little fill. I shot a bunch with my macro, but this image stands out for me because of the background.
There were dozens of these burrows along the roadside. This one actually had an inhabitant lurking just inside the front door. I've since found out it's a Funnel Web Spider. I cropped this one to focus on the subject rather than the surroundings.
One of the most deadly spiders in the world. Its venom is fast acting, and can lead to death in 15 minutes. Our guide’s remarks fell on deaf ears (although Chris’s notes diligently recorded this), while I concentrated on a close-up....Maybe I wouldn't have leaned over to get the close-up.
