The bridge is called Weetwood Bridge it straddles the River Till.I like the shape of the bridge together with the trees beside the river as well.

I was going to crop out the sign as being white it is a distraction but decided to leave it in as it proclaims the state of the bridge as it stands today, it is grade 1 listed but I cannot find a date when it was built. We did have some rain while we were there from that cloud that drifted out over the Cheviot hills.

You are my hiding place

You always fill my heart

With songs of deliverance

Whenever I am afraid

I will trust in You

I will trust in You

Let the weak say

I am strong

In the strength of the Lord

I wasn't seeing anything except on my camera but this time was so good to share with friends!

... Think you've got a point there, Cid."

As I didn't know what sort of a day I'd have after Graham fell yesterday, I was digging into the Happy Hippy bag as soon as I could for an emergency back up photo.

The weather hasn't been great either today, not raining, but overcast and dull, so I thought I'd give going out a miss and use my spare photo, which I had fun taking anyway and liked how it came out.

PS: Graham is feeling bruised and a bit weak, but he's been resting, sleeping for most of the day and I'm hoping that he'll be more like his old self by tomorrow.

Thank you all for asking.

Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites. :O)

Having experienced a high the previous night from extensive auroras we hoped for a repeat night. NOAA forecasted a dip in aurora activity during the day but predicted increased activity by nightfall. As the day rolled by so did the clouds in the south of Iceland by Jökulsárlón. Hoping to find some clear skies Aaron, Alan, Rebecca, and I headed east after sunset towards Vestrahorn, where clouds were forecasted to subside by the morning hours. On our way we ended up stopping at Höfn for a langoustine dinner. The grilled langoustine was delicious: tender, buttery, and sweet. It set the stage for a wondrous night.

Once we arrived at Vestrahorn the near full moon aided us in scouting out the location. While scouting we noticed some faint aurora low in the sky. Though weak it was still a pleasure to see and photograph but soon the incoming clouds spoiled the show. Hence we called it a night in our Happy Campers and waited it out for the morning hours.

Snoozing away, Aaron suddenly opened our van door and yelled for us to get up at 5am. The majority of the clouds had cleared and the aurora activity picked up to a KP4. From then on time flew by as we blasted away until after sunrise.

Something #nice: I saw a small #bee hanging in the cat's net on the balcony. Was so weak that it fell directly into my hand. As a good host, of course a little bit of sugar water was offered - was also gratefully accepted

Weak sauce winter, so far. We’re up to 265 consecutive days with no measurable snow in Salt Lake City. There’s a little up in the mountains, but not enough.

I usually go out to take photographs from early morning to late afternoon. This photo was taken around 10 am on a hot day. I saw this weak ant and decided to "shoot' her. I was looking at her wondering how tiny and weak she was, running in the hot weather on hot stones and ground, with no clothes to protct her against the weather.

After a while, the ant found the small pieces of bread I usually throw for ants. She took a big piece and began walking back to her "house". It was not very far, however, for a tiny creature carrying a big piece of bread in this hot weather, it was, and is, tiresome. I was wondering how weak this tiny ceature is.

Then another idea hit me. Now I was comfortably sitting under my umbrella, with a snack beside me and some cold water. How would I feel if I had to take off my clothes (excuse me) in this hot weather, walk or run bare footed on hot stones and ground, carrying some heavy load!

I then discovered who the weak creature really was (and is).

Maybe you will like it... i made it in december, i can't decide is it good or not... it is always problem to me... and i'm sure this is the main thing in photography, the abilty of decision between good and bad... you can't learn it... you have to be able to make a difference between the captures, which one carries the value...

The Nassauer Haus or Schlüsselfeldersche Stiftungshaus in Nuremberg is a medieval residential tower made of so-called red castle sandstone. Although originally built in Romanesque style, after several reconstructions the house is still characterized by Gothic style elements. It is the last still existing residential tower in Nuremberg.

The tower stands in the Lorenzer Altstadt, opposite the Lorenzkirche, in Karolinenstraße 2.

The name "Nassauer Haus" is the name in use for the corner house only since the 19th century and is based on an erroneous reference to the German king Adolf von Nassau († 1298). Until then, the building was referred to (since the early 18th century) as Schlüsselfelderisches Stiftungshaus. However, descendants of the king from the count's House of Nassau had possessions further north of the Lorenzkirche in the 15th century.

The construction method for fortified tower houses or residential towers came in the 13th century from Upper Italian cities to the German Reichsstädte trading with them. "Geschlechtertürme" were widespread in the (rather weakly fortified) trade centers to protect trade goods from raids, furthermore also as status symbols of noble families who had moved into the cities. In Regensburg, several family towers based on the Italian model are still preserved. Around 1430, about 65 are also said to have existed in Nuremberg, of which the Nassau House is the only surviving one.

The cellar (with an irregular cross-ribbed vault) and the two lower floors are dated to the 13th century. Around the 16th century, the vault of the cellar was raised, as well as that of the first floor. The hall-like cellar is used today as an inn. The two upper floors, which are clearly distinguished by regular ashlar masonry of a reddish hue from the small-scale structured masonry of the lower floors, belong to the 15th century. The original tower may have risen freestanding above the low wooden houses in the vicinity and may also have supported a wooden or half-timbered superstructure in the manner of the Amorbacher Templerhaus. At least the penultimate floor can be attributed to a reconstruction around 1422 by the then owner Jobst Haug. The top floor with its coat of arms frieze and the three pointed-helmeted corner towers was brought into the existing form around 1433 by Ulrich Ortlieb, who is also credited with the choir. The tower has a pyramid-shaped hipped roof.

The residential tower probably only became a "fortified tower" for romantic observers of the 19th century, who may have seen a uniform building in it, whereby the decorative battlement, the coat of arms frieze and the royal attribution may have contributed to this assessment. The most important external change is the installation of the round arched openings on the first floor in 1836; one of them was enlarged to a door around 1900. In the early period, the stone floors of the tower may have had only slit windows or embrasuress and a high entrance, as was customary at the time.

THE SILENCE OF SOLITUDE

In the silence of my solitude my mind is free to dream,

To contemplate the things that were, that are, and those that might have been.

While a life yet still to come which I have never seen seems tentative at best

Stirring up a future hope from which I never rest.

For memory is part of life and dreams of future speak,

But in the now my soul resides in a body strong and weak.

In my body works the weakest frailty of men and it may lay me low

To steal away the freedom we call life as we daily come and go.

When we do and say the things that make us what we are

Naked truth in action, unblemished or with scar.

Where we seek the touch of love's forgiving soft caress

The refuge of all lives set free of loneliness.

My mind can see so clearly in the still and rest of peace

The many deeds of men that daily never cease,

The good, the bad, the selfish and societal conformed.

But I must contemplate my life since the day that I was born.

For I am far from blameless in so many varied ways,

And shall be ever still until my dying days.

Even in my solitude with secrets I don't share

I need to know that somewhere close there's someone who does care.

I crave to feel that comfort of someone holding hands

Secure within the knowledge that there's nought I can't withstand.

Grateful for the one who sees me in my need, for we are all the same

When finally The Reaper comes to make his mournful claim.

Here in the silence of my solitude, my refuge and tormentor,

I must face myself alone without a friend or mentor.

No one can hear the words or set my spirit free,

No one can share the happiness no one but me, but me.

And shall I ever be allowed to open up my soul?

Perhaps I will upon the day that we are all made whole.

Here in my solitude I know love, anger and loss

As I draw from my wells of joy, and resent my failure's cost.

Reflection, fulfilment, and memories reside for me

Here in my safe place where unspoken words fly free.

And I must wait until the end of time for me

To know the sense of what it was to live reality.
