We did an evening walk after work and kindergarten today to see the British aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth (R08) down in the harbour here in Oslo.
The carrier entered service in 2020 and can take up to 60 aircrafts! It is 284 m long and has 9 decks below the flight deck. Max speed is 32 knots (59 km/h) and total range is 10,000 nautical miles (19,000 km).

Took a trip to Southern Roots, surprisingly it was my first trip and I absolutely loved it. I'm really grateful that he let me drive! Can you see how excited he was for me to be driving too?

This guy meant business, with his bloody chainsaw bar, hubcap (bed pan?) shield, dangling Rolex, bloodied and bullet riddled shirt, and his steel pot on his head. we stopped just long enough to capture this menace before he stepped over the boundary and came after us. Barely made our escape as he moves much quicker than one would expect. Mmmwwhhhhaaaaaaa!
One of the few times we were stopped by a mere sign.

We were driving on this country road when suddenly around a bend in the road we see this rock formation.
A Ibex family in the Lechtal Alps.
Thanks to a wide variety of breeding programs and
resettlement projects, the ibex is again more common in the
Alps. The area of the upper Lech Valley should be house
around 400 animals.

Anzac Day, 25 April, 2024.
The Shrine of Remembrance, Melbourne, Australia.
After the end of the Great War (1914-1918), one so terrible that people hoped in vain it would be the last, Australia's two largest cities began planning permanent memorials.
In Sydney's Hyde Park the beautiful Anzac Memorial in the art deco style was opened on November 24, 1934.

Meanwhile, Melbourne adopted a more classical building with elements of the Egyptian Revival style and called it The Shrine of Remembrance. It was also opened in November 1934. www.shrine.org.au/history-shrine-remembrance
Whereas Sydney's memorial is light and airy inside, Melbourne's Shrine is dark (save for the inner sanctum) and has the feel of an ancient tomb. These are just two ways of commemorating the sacrifices made on the battlefields in all wars. Both memorials have wonderful museums attached and remind us that the lessons of history are always relevant.
We remember so that we do not forget.
we were going to the beach today, but Paco is sick in hospital (Paco is one of my dogs) so no beach.
